As part of our new initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’ we invited five brides-to-be for a unique experience at Designer Studio, a multi-designer store in Mahalaxmi, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo shoot, each of the five participants got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here, in the second of the four-part series, Hiral Gandhi writes about her experience.
“My tryst with WeddingSutra started soon after me and my fiance Kunal submitted our photo for the popular album ‘Just Engaged‘. Since then, I have been hooked on to WeddingSutra. One day, while I was going through the Blog, I read about ‘WeddingSutra on Location,’ and I immediately emailed them to say how eager I am to be a part of it. Luckily, I got a reply few weeks later inviting me to the next WeddingSutra on Location at Designer Studio. I was so excited to be a part of this, that I decided to visit Designer Studio two days before the shoot to look at all the lehengas, and make a mental shortlist of the outfits I’d like to try on for the shoot.
On the day of the shoot, I reached the store at the scheduled time, accompanied by my mother and Kunal’s mother. Although WeddingSutra had informed me that its best if I come alone, both the mothers were very keen to see what I would look like after the makeover, and I didn’t want to disappoint them so they happily came, promising to leave me alone, and not influence my choices. The session started with a consultation with Wedding Planner Neha Shroff. I told her I really liked a lime green and neon pink raw silk lehenga by Designer Tamana Punjabi Kapoor. Both Neha and the Makeup Artist felt it was an unusual color and style, and agreed it was worth trying. I did, and I was glad to see it fitted me well. Then, it was time for the Makeup. Words can’t describe the experience with Ojas Rajani. She is so passionate about her work, and with all her positive energy I felt like a ‘Diva’. As I walked out of the Makeup Room, the mothers were thrilled to see my final look. They immediately reached out to Ojas to check if she was free to do my wedding makeup.
Next was the Photo shoot with Shreya Sen. She is one of the sweetest Photographers I have met, and I had an enjoyable and fun experience as she clicked away. Once we were done with the shoot, it was time to leave, but before leaving I requested WeddingSutra to schedule one such shoot for Grooms-to-be too, cause I’m sure my fiance would enjoy this unusual experience as much as I did.”
