With WeddingSutra on Location- Yuti Mehta
Bridal Fashion and Beauty, WeddingSutra on Location - Sep 26, 2013
As part of our initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’ we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Ensemble, the multi designer store near Lions Gate, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo shoot, each of the four participants got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here in the first of the four-part series, Yuti Mehta, a freelance fashion designer, who is tying the knot with her long-time boyfriend in Mumbai this December writes about her experience:
Ever since my wedding dates got fixed, I have been hooked on to WeddingSutra. One day, while I was on the Editor’s Blog I happened to read about ‘WeddingSutra on location’, and I wrote to them right away. I was thrilled when I received a reply, inviting me for their next on Location at Ensemble.
It was 10.00 am on a Thursday morning, the elegant doors of Ensemble opened, and I felt a little odd entering the iconic store all by myself. The Receptionist guided me to the first floor where the bridal wear is showcased. There I got a warm welcome from the WeddingSutra team who introduced me to all the experts they had invited- Wedding Planner Neha Shroff, Makeup Artist Kumar Iyer and Photographer Shreya Sen. Now I felt comfortable and was excited about the makeover. The first step was deciding on what to wear. Neha Shroff showed me a few bridal lehengas and I was immediately attracted to a stunning fuchsia colored lehenga with intricate hand embroidery set in pink stones. It was complemented with a gold embroidered blouse and a heavy tulle dupatta. I tried on the outfit and felt really nice.
Next it was time for hair and makeup. Once I briefed Kumar on what I wanted, he smiled and I figured he knew exactly what I was looking for, perhaps many brides have told him something similar, I wanted to look like a traditional bride, but I didn’t want very traditional make-up. He quietly went about doing his work with his deft fingers, and when it was done, I looked at myself in the mirror and was pleased.
What I also loved about my look was the Jewellery- all chic and elegant gold creations. Anshu from the WeddingSutra team told me they were creations by Azva available at select Jewellery stores. I wore the necklace, earrings and bangles which complimented the outfit beautifully; an earring used as a Maangtika ‘completed’ the look. Finally, it was time for the Photo Shoot with Shreya Sen. I’ll call her brilliant because I never had to put on a ‘smile’ or be conscious about my posture.
I’m sure every bride-to-be who has been a part of WeddingSutra on location has left feeling pampered and content, and my experience was no different! I was overwhelmed with all the little details the entire team took care of to make me feel so special!
