Customized Banarasi Lehengas We Spotted On A Bride’s Squad
Bride Ria played designer to her bridesmaids, dressing them up in elegant Benarasi lehengas sourced and crafted by herself.
While weddings are all about celebrating new beginnings and love with your special someone, it is also about spending time and celebrating your bond with your family and, of course, your friends!
Your bridal squad is usually the gang of girls you’ve spent most of your bachelorhood with and there is no better occasion than your wedding to tell them how special they are to you! While your girlfriends help you through all your wedding prep and calm you down during your bridezilla moments, they ought to be looked after, too! Bride Ria knew that her bridesmaids needed to be pampered as much as she did and left no stone unturned to make them feel like real princesses on her big day.

Ria says, “Like all little girls, I would look up to pretty brides with glee, being in awe of their presence. I always imagined myself walking down the aisle with my girls, wearing something that would not only make me stand out but share the limelight with the women who have shaped me, moulded me and been with me through thick and thin.”
Ria always knew that she wanted to skip going the cliche way while planning the attires of her bridesmaids. She wanted something unique for each of them, tied in with a common element. She decided on Benarasi silk as it matched her own Sabyasachi outfit. She personally designed the lehengas made from the fabric for each of her eight bridesmaids.
Talking about the entire experience of crafting these gorgeous ensembles, Ria says, “I gave my tribe a surprise and customized each outfit myself. I selected patterns, patiently experimented with the color palette and sourced them directly from weavers in Banaras. Taking the easy way out is time-saving for a bride, however, going that extra mile to see a smile on your best friends’ faces is priceless.”
Each of the creations designed and crafted by the bride was absolutely beautiful and made the girl gang look like a squad of princesses, as showcased in these spectacular clicks captured by Shutterdown Photography.
