My Best Friend Aditi’s Wedding
Bride-to-be Aditi and her bridesmaids get gorgeous with WeddingSutra favorites which included stylish makeovers, glitzy gowns and tempting treats
She’s always been seen as something of a tomboy, and her girlfriends never dreamt that one day she would sashay elegantly in a gown. That’s why bride-to-be Aditi’s glamourous makeover at the WeddingSutra shoot was such a memorable affair for her childhood friends – Maithili, Akshata, Priyanjali and Saachi. It was also the perfect way to get a feel of what’s to come at Aditi’s Mumbai wedding in November this year. And yes, pampering was on the cards too!
It all started when bride-to-be Aditi expressed her delight at having her ‘girly gang’ as bridesmaids at her upcoming wedding. So WeddingSutra decided to treat them all to a makeover with notable picks from its panel of favorites to ensure a memorable experience which would also be captured for posterity with beautiful photos.
The ladies were invited to spend a day at the luxurious St Regis Hotel in Mumbai. They were impressed by the sleek decor of the hotel and the lavish suite which hosted them for the day. Aditi loved 1 Bedroom suite at St Regis which was very spacious and had a beautiful French windows. “This is such a lovely room… are we actually going to shoot here?” she asked, delighted. There were more surprises to come – the WeddingSutra team welcomed the girls with yummy brownies from Deliciae and crisp, refreshing Ciroc Vodka cocktails, and gift boxes from Oganice especially for the bridesmaids.
The morning began with the girls sifting through the elegant ensembles from JADE Couture. Every outfit was specially chosen to match the ‘cocktail theme’ of the shoot, and had the requisite touch of evening glamour with intricate embroidery and embellishments. Also, since they going to be on their toes all day, Himali Doshi’s beautiful heels ensured the girls looked classy yet felt comfortable.

The bridesmaids were treated with chocolate brownies from Deliciae in floral boxes by Organice. They accessorized with statement pieces from Gehna Jewellers and shoes by Himali Doshi.
Aditi chose a gorgeous dull gold gown with beautiful embroidery, while her bridesmaids opted for darker ensembles to offer a contrast to the bride-to-be’s look. Akshata wore a beautiful pink creation which she said made her look feminine and elegant. “I didn’t want to get out of it!” she exclaimed. Maithili looked gorgeous in a red lehenga, and she was surprised as she typically avoids the colour. “I was so weary of the colour, but once I wore my red gown, I realised I looked gorgeous,” she shared. Priyanjali and Saachi both chose blue ensembles and couldn’t stop twirling around in them.

The shoot was the first time Aditi had got her make-up and hair done professionally and was thrilled by the final look that make-up artist Abhilasha Singh from the Jean Claude Biguine salon at St Regis gave her. She shares, “I am quite a tomboy to be honest, and have worn make-up only twice in my life so this makeover session felt really special. And since I don’t have too much knowledge about beauty and cosmetics, I left it to Abhilasha and she did a fabulous job!”

The bridesmaids too were very happy with their beautiful makeup looks by the talented team at Jean Claude Biguine. “The make-up on all of us was flawless, and we all looked radiant and dewy throughout the busy shoot,” shares Akshata.

Then it was time for Aditi to get her hands on a range of bridal bling from Gehna Jewellers. She wore a stunning statement necklace, earrings, bracelet and rings, while the bridesmaids chose eye-catching chandelier earrings, cocktail rings and elegant bracelets that paired well with their mod ensembles.

When the girls were ready, photographer Ronnie Sequeira got to work. He coaxed them into having animated conversations so he could get the most natural, expressive shots. The shoot was held at the hotel’s Exo bar which made for a great location with its elegant design comprising high ceilings and a pink and gold theme.

Aditi is all set to move to Udaipur after her wedding and that is something her bridesmaids are still trying to come to terms with. So there was a tangible layer of emotions despite the merry moods at this shoot. “The shoot was a lot of fun and we had a great time dressing up and spending time together. None of us wanted the experience to get over. We still can’t come to terms with Aditi wearing a gown as she has always been a tomboy for us. Just to see her in a new avatar was an emotional moment for all of us,” recalled Saachi, while Akshata added, “It was just the perfect time for all of us to be with Aditi as she is going to get married and move to Udaipur soon after.”

Aditi says she considers herself very lucky to have had such a memorable makeover experience with her besties by her side. “I cannot thank the team at WeddingSutra enough… this has been an amazing experience.”
We at WeddingSutra enjoyed giving Aditi and her friends a memorable experience, and we wish them all the best!
