Aahat, The Perfect Location, Faridabad
In her gorgeous Kanjeevaram saree and kundan jewelry, soon-to-wed Aahat exuded a compelling vibe which made her transform into a wedding aisle-ready bride.
WeddingSutra, in collaboration with Lakmé Absolute and Taneira, brings you ‘WeddingSutra on Location’ – a curated showcase of top bridal trends and style statements from some of our WeddingSutra Favorites.
WeddingSutra’s most popular bridal initiative ‘WeddingSutra On Location’ took place at The Perfect Location where the gorgeous setups upped the classy quotient of the shoot. In the third of this three-part series, bride-to-be Aahat combined classic and contemporary inspirations to achieve a unique look.
Nothing spells runway glam better than a glow created using warm metallic bronze and gold. Therefore, while envisioning her wedding day look, Aahat, brought out her stylish self with the help of these iridescent tones. After all, a walk down the aisle is no less noteworthy than a sashay on the ramp! In order to ensure that her look was on point, she trusted only the best and let Mya Dang work her magic on her. The skilled makeup artist created Aahat’s striking visage with products from Lakmé Absolute’s The Kareena Kapoor Khan Collection range.
To add a traditional touch to this modern look, Aahat turned to the collection of gorgeous Indian wear that Taneira had to offer. She picked a rich Kanjeevaram saree which she paired with bling from Just Jewellery’s range of exquisite baubles. Each piece played a key role in accentuating her look. Once she had them on, she was totally camera ready. Shutterdown followed her through the day to get the best of both candid and posed photographs, thus making this day that she will always remember through their beautiful images.
After going through the exquisite clothing by Taneira, Aahat felt drawn towards a silk Kanjeevaram saree. She went with her gut and the result was stunning. “I don’t usually wear sarees, so it was an unexpected choice. However, I have to say that I was very comfortable in it,” she said. The saree was rich with deep hues of orange and blue. Its golden threads added a wonderful sheen. To give it a distinctive twist, she paired the drape with a golden blouse that had a peplum silhouette. “I would say that the saree was very unique,” added Aahat.
The South Indian saree was paired beautifully with a North Indian-style kundan necklace from Just Jewellery. The piece included blue and white stones and the panel along the neck was trimmed by stone elements, and clusters of pearls that added a regal edge to the design. Aahat teamed this with ornate ‘chand balis’ (moon-shaped dangling earrings) that featured blue enamel work, a matching ‘maang tikka’ (forehead ornament) and bracelets with details that resembled the traditional Punjabi ‘kaliras’ (dangling ornaments hung from bridal bangles).
After completing her sartorial choices, it was time for Aahat to get dolled up. Makeup artist Mya Dang was ready to transform her into a bride with the perfect sun-kissed glow. Trusting Lakmé Absolute’s expertise in the arena of makeup she made use of the Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute collection to elevate Aahat’s looks. A healthy but natural glow was the focus, and the flush of bronzer was used artistically to define her cheekbones and the highpoints of her face. Not only did her work give her Aahat’s skin tone a subtle boost, but also ensured that she looked like a diva bride ready to say ‘I do.’ Aahat, who was very impressed by Mya Dang, shared, “Mya was very sweet and gentle. I loved the way she treated me. On your wedding day, when you have so much going on and are most likely to be a little stressed, you need someone like her by your side. I also loved the Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute lipstick that she used which matched my attire beautifully.”
Once Mya had completed her work, Shutterdown took over. The team’s efforts were well received by the bride-to-be who said. “I am very active on Instagram, and I knew that Shutterdown is great with their work. What left me pleasantly surprised, however was the fact that despite all the popularity, they are so friendly. The team constantly encouraged us, gave us inputs and made sure that we were comfortable in front of the camera. It was great working with the team.”
Aahat’s Look
While it may seem like achieving the perfect bronzed look is only about zeroing in on facial areas that reflect light the strongest, it involves a lot of prep work. Makeup artist Mya Dang started by applying the Lakmé Absolute Skin Natural Mousse – Hydrating in Ivory Cream to Aahat’s skin to help her achieve the look of healthy skin. Using the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet And Dry Compact she set the foundation in, giving her a clean base to work on. Next, it was time to add some intensity to her eyes with a smokey effect with the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate. She then lined her eyes with the Lakmé Absolute Forever Silk Eyeliner in Blacklast and added another streak of liner over it with the Lakme Absolute Shine Line Eye Liner in Silver. To give her the right amount of golden glow, Mya used the Lakmé Absolute Sun Kissed Bronzer. For the final finish, she lined Aahat’s lips using the Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute Lip Definer in Carnation and filled intense color with the help of Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute Lip Pout in Mischievous Love.
