Akanksha Jumani – Ensemble, Mumbai
Akanksha Jumani looked like a modern princess in her pink designer lehenga after her ‘WeddingSutra on Location’ makeover.
WeddingSutra’s most popular bridal initiative ‘WeddingSutra On Location‘ was held at Ensemble, Mumbai. In the first of this three-part series, we made over Akanksha Jumani who picked a beautiful monochrome pink lehenga by Tarun Tahiliani. To complement the golden thread work on the outfit, she wore gorgeous jewellery from Azva. Recinda Martis worked her makeup magic to ensure that she looked enchanting, and Once Upon A Time – Wedding Tales captured frames that looked like images out of a fairytale.
When we checked in on Akanksha, she shared that she was in the throes of her wedding preparations. She refers to WeddingSutra constantly for ideas and inspiration at every step of the process. She shares, “As soon as the dates for my wedding were finalized, I started following WeddingSutra avidly. I was so happy with the kind of information it provides its audience. I love that WeddingSutra’s social media channels are updated daily and cover a large variety of topics that may be of interest to different brides. I found myself browsing the website to check out the best photographers, makeup artists and designers. I had even attended a WeddingSutra Masterclass and found it very helpful. I think you guys are doing a great job. Keep up the good work!”
With such a wide range of beautifully designed clothes, Akanksha took her time to pick the one ensemble that resonated with her. When she spotted the pink Tarun Tahiliani creation, she knew it was it! “I saw the outfit, and I went ‘Wow!’ Pink is my favorite color, and it complements my complexion perfectly and makes me glow. I got so many compliments from everyone at the shoot. I had always envisioned myself as a bride in pink, and it made me super happy to be wearing a lehenga in that color,” she says.
Akanksha loved the stunning embellishments on the lehenga. “The threadwork on the outfit was stunning. It looked heavy, but it did not weigh me down, which, in my opinion, is everything that a bride wants her bridal lehenga to be!”
Once her lehenga was finalized, Akanksha relaxed into a chair and let Recinda doll her up keeping in mind the colors of her outfit. “I saw the bridal look Recinda gave me, and I was sold! I did not have to tell her even once about the style and look that I prefer. Recinda was friendly and open to suggestions. Moreover, even after she was done, she and her sister kept making sure that my hair was on point at all times and touch-ups were efficiently done whenever required. I wanted to book her for my wedding, but unfortunately, she is not available at that date. I tried, in vain, to convince her to drop her previous reservation and let me book her instead!” shares Akanksha, with a laugh.
Once Upon A Time – Wedding Tales stepped in as soon as Akanksha was ready. This beaming bride-to-be admitted that she loves being photographed. “I enjoy being clicked to the extent that I would happily pose for 10 hours in front of the camera if I were asked to! It was such a pleasure working with Once Upon A Time – Wedding Tales. Prateek showed me how to pose, corrected me when I didn’t get it right, and was not rude or rushed at all. His clicks were prompt, and there were no repeats. I’m so excited to show my family the photographs and hope I will be able to book them for my wedding.”
Akanksha also shared that the VIP bags proved to be one of the best for a bride to pack her bridal trousseau in for they are not only sturdy, but at the same time they are also stylish.
She sums up her experience of the day saying, “I was very keen on being a part of WeddingSutra On Location makeover and shoot. What added to my excitement was the fact my best friend Chandni too got selected for the same shoot at the same time! The WeddingSutra team, of course, played a vital role in making the whole experience an exhilarating one. Everyone was so accommodating, there were refreshments served, we experienced no delays, and while everyone was very professional, they were also very warm.”
Akanksha’s Look
Recinda created an elegantly charming look on Akanksha. She first evened out her skin tone with Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation. Using the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact, she then created a clean base for the rest of the makeup. To play up the drama in Akanksha’s eyes, Recinda pulled out the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette – Gold and added volume to her lashes using Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Volume Mascara. Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos was used to add just the right amount of flush to her cheeks, and the entire look came together once Recinda colored Akanksha’s lips with Lakmé Absolute Lip Pout Matte Lip Color in Magenta Magic.
