Discover her transformation at WeddingSutra on Location held at AZA’s new store in Bandra, Mumbai
As part of our initiative WeddingSutra on Location, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at AZA’s new store in Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got an opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here, in the third of the four-part series, bride-to-be Dr Anisha Maydeo tells us about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at AZA.
“After I got engaged, two of my friends soon asked me: ‘Have you been logging on to www.weddingsutra.com‘? So I logged on to the e-zine not knowing how comprehensive and content rich it will be and I was pleasantly surprised- it was THE perfect guide for wedding planning and preps! More so, for someone like me with a very hectic professional work schedule. One day, I chanced upon WeddingSutra on Location shoots, and I immediately wrote to them, quite unsure if anything will come out of it. A few weeks later I was delighted to receive an email informing me that I was one of the lucky four to be selected for WeddingSutra on Location.
The shoot was held at AZA’s sprawling new store in Bandra. Once I entered, I met the warm and hospitable WeddingSutra editorial team. After the introductions, I went on to select my outfit. A beautiful lehenga by Shyam Narayan Prasad caught my eye, it was in a lovely pink shade, which is indeed my favorite color! The exquisitely embroidered lehenga was teamed with a pink choli and a lighter pink dupatta with a gold border and gold sequins work. To match the outfit, the team recommended an elaborate AZVA bridal set from TBZ– chaand bali earrings and a layered necklace.
Next, it was time for hair and makeup. By observing my face structure and complexion, Makeup Artist Amrita Sanghavi quickly figured what kind of makeup would bring out my best features. She highlighted my eyes by giving me a winged eyeliner and smoky eye look, and went easy on the foundation, exactly the way I prefer it. For my hair, we decided to do a high bun with a nicely styled fringe on my forehead to complete the bridal look.
After hair and make up was done, it was time to start the photo shoot. I have always been camera friendly and hence, posing came quite naturally. Photographers Ashwin and Jhalak of Shades were very friendly as well, and shared useful tips on where to look and how to pose, and I enjoyed the session thoroughly.

Anisha’s Look
Anisha has a beautifully sculpted face and cheek bones, so makeup artist Amrita Sanghavi decided to simply enhance her features. After creating a makeup base with Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse in Beige Honey and Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact, Amrita applied Lakmé Absolute Colour Illusion Shadow in Gold Pearl on Anisha’s eyelids to keep it minimal. She gave her dramatic winged eyes with Lakmé Absolute Gel Addict Eyeliner in Black and couple of coats of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara. Amrita also contoured her cheekbones with Lakmé Absolute Moon-Lit Highlighter and a soft hint of blush with Lakmé Absolute Face stylist blush duos in Rose pink. She gave her bold pink lips with Lakmé Absolute Gloss Addict in Pink Temptation. To change things up a bit, Amrita gave her a classic messy updo. She styled short bangs falling on Anisha’s face and the rest was swept into a high messy bun to accentuate her long neck.
