India’s Southern belt carries a cultural identity that is distinctly different from that of the rest of the country. However, even within this region one can find customs, traditions and ethnic nuances that set each community apart from the other.
In the latest edition of the WeddingSutra on Location, Kalyan Jewellers extended their exquisite bridal jewellery crafted for these Tamil, Telugu and Malayali brides to help us create looks that celebrated each one’s unique style and heritage. The jewellery worn by the three brides were handpicked from the Muhurat Collection, a mélange of the best of traditional and contemporary bridal designs from across India including temple jewellery, polki designs, traditional diamond pieces, gemstone jewellery and much more. Their impeccably created ornaments reflected expert craftsmanship and attention to detail, and are curated for modern brides from every Indian state.
Their wonderful looks were put together by Shikha Dhandhia who teamed the ornaments with outfits by Warp n’ Weft and Chamee And Palak. The ensembles showcased intricate zari work and embellishments, all of which added to the beauty of jewellery. Elevating the allure of the bride’s was makeup artist Kajol R Paswwan who brought along her arsenal of Lakmé Absolute Beauty products. The top-notch cosmetics allowed her to get creative with their looks and their premium quality ensured that her work stayed intact all day long. The hero of each of her looks however was the Lakmé Absolute Matte Revolution Lip Color whose deep pigments and matte finish added a rich dash of color, and whose moisturizing formulas ensure that girls’ lips felt and looked nourished and smooth all day.
Picture Perfect India went about the day deftly capturing every memorable moment for the girls to cherish.The shoot, which was held the splendid terraces of Mumbai’s Jade Garden, captured all the nuances of the day at the scenic venue which is ideal for Indian celebrations. Making the affair more memorable was the team at Vivaah who designed decor evocative of South India and added to the authenticity of the concept.
