WeddingSutra’s most popular bridal initiative, ‘WeddingSutra on Location,’ was held at the picturesque Jade Garden at Worli in Mumbai. In the first of thisthree-part series, bride-to-be Bhagyashree Tanwar was treated to a glamorous makeover that included a dazzling designer outfit, exquisite bridal jewellery and stunning makeup.
Bhagyashree looked like a charming Tamil bride in her classic necklace, earrings and maang tikka set from Kalyan Jewellers which was teamed with a red lehenga designed by Chamee and Palak. Her gorgeous features were enhanced to perfection by makeup artist Kajol Paswwan who used the finest products from Lakmé Absolute. The team of Picture Perfect India captured all the details of Bhagyashree’s bridal transformation with finesse.
Here’s the bride-to-be sharing her exciting experience.
“I have been following WeddingSutra on all its social media platforms since forever. However, after my wedding dates were fixed, I knew that it was time I start looking for bridal inspiration ideas and that is exactly where WeddingSutra helped me the most. One day, while I was casually looking through the feed for some stunning bridal lehengas, I came across the WeddingSutra On Location opportunity and sent an email instantly!”
“We started with stylist Shikha Dhandia selecting these gorgeous baubles from Kalyan Jewellers for me. I was really awestruck by the intricate detailing of the jewellery that was selected for my makeover. Nothing beats the traditional combination of emeralds and rubies set in gold, and that’s exactly the look chosen for my traditional Tamil look. The Kalyan Jewellers RANG collection is a beautiful assortment of precious stone jewellery including rubies, emeralds, sapphires and more and their jewellery matched perfectly with my red attire. I wore two traditional Maanga Malas in two different lengths, matched with bangles, earrings, a maang tikka and a bajuband from the same exquisite collection. The Kamarband chosen for me was a multi style-detachable piece that could also be worn as a long Rani Haar. The other look chosen for me included pieces from the acclaimed Nagas collection that were designed for the gods and are truly a treasure to own. The Kalyan Jewellers Nimah collection has several of these bridal gems, that are a must-have in any bridal trousseau.”
Smitten by the beautiful outfit picked for her by stylist Shikha Dhandhia, Bhagyashree adds, “The ensemble was a stunning red lehenga by Chamee and Palak with intricate golden embellishments on the choli. The skirt was crafted from Benarasi silk and had similar intricate styling on the border. A mesh dupatta in the same color with minute gold embellishments completed the look. Although not stereotypically South Indian, the lehenga was crafted out of silk and thus helped me achieve my Tamilian bridal look perfectly, as planned by Shikha.”
She added, “Being a bridal make-up artist myself, I know how difficult it is to create the perfect, magical look for the bride without overpowering her natural features. However, Kajol Paswwan flawlessly curated the stunning smokey eye and nude lips look on my face that went very well with my ensemble. The final look cleverly blended traditional Tamilian makeup with the latest trends. Picture Perfect India was absolutely professional, friendly and helpful while guiding me to ease up before the camera.”
Bhagyashree’s Look
Kajol conceptualized Bhagyashree’s makeup to accentuate her natural features. An application of the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Foundation smoothened her face, after which Kajol lightly brushed on the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact. Her gorgeous eyes were highlighted with the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in Royal Persia, and lined with the Lakmé Absolute Precision Eye Artist Kajal in Black. For that extra oomph, a generous application of the Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Volume Mascara did the trick. The brows, being one of most distinct features of Bhagyashree’s face, were given a bold and fuller appearance using the Lakmé Absolute Precision Eye Artist Eyebrow Pencil. Her cheeks had a rosy glow thanks to the Lakmé Absolute Bronzer in Sun Kissed, and glimmered with the Lakmé Absolute Moon Light Highlighter. An application of the Lakmé Absolute Matte Revolution Lip Color in Mauve Mania completed Bhagyashree’s stunning bridal look with a smooth and light finish, without weighing her lips down like other matte lipsticks.
