Bride-to-be Dhwani spent a day with Lakmé Absolute and ensembles from Anita Dongre.

The latest edition of this popular bridal initiative took place at the beautifully designed Anita Dongre store in Mumbai. In the third of this three-part series bride-to-be, Dhwani explored a world of distinctive bridal styles to find the one that resonated with her taste the most and stepped out looking like the prettiest version of herself.
When it comes to eyeliner, blue is the new black. The color has been showing up in all shades everywhere from runways to red carpets. Its impact makes its popularity no surprise. A great balance between bold and playful, a blue eyeliner lends an unexpected, eye-catching pop of color to any look.
Products from Lakmé’s collections, the Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute as well as the Lakmé Absolute Matte Ultimate Lip Color Range, were makeup artist Mausam Gandhi’s trusted tools to give Dhwani a youthful, bridal look. Her makeup was created keeping in mind her wardrobe by Anita Dongre. Her gorgeous outfit was handpicked from the designer’s Pichhwai Collection which pays beautiful tribute to this heritage art of Rajasthan dating back to the 16th century. The ensemble paired wonderfully with exquisite baubles from Pink City by Anita Dongre and once Mausam Gandhi had styled Dhwani’s tresses, she posed effortlessly for team WhatKnot.
Dhwani’s entire look was conjured keeping summer in mind. The traditional red was given a miss and she glowed in the white Izumi Lehenga from Anita Dongre’s Pichhwai Collection. The rich fabric showcased tiny spring flowers and birds as seen in the forests of Rajasthan in soothing hues of blue and yellow. The fine artistry the piece displayed had Dhwani amazed. “It was love at first sight!” she exclaimed. “What really struck me were the details on the fabric. It was all hand painted and so impeccably neat! This wasn’t just an outfit – it was an artistic masterpiece. I was also impressed by the quality of the garment. The lehenga looked very heavy, but when I put it on I realized that it was, in fact, quite light. I had it on for about five hours but felt no discomfort at all. Wearing an Anita Dongre creation is every bride’s dream and I got to live it even before my wedding day!”
While the ensemble exuded contemporary appeal, her jewellery from Pink City by Anita Dongre brought an ethnic facet to the overall charm. A statement nath was teamed with a regal haar and a delicate hathpool. “Just like the outfit the jewellery too was very lightweight! This is so important to me as a bride since I don’t want my outfits or ornaments to restrict my movement or stop me from having fun on my big day,” Dhwani said.
Mausam Gandhi, brought a twist to the perfect makeup with pop colors from Lakmé Absolute’s collections. Products from the Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute were used along with the Lakmé Absolute Matte Ultimate Lip Color and the results were flawless.
The brand’s latest lipstick collection offers a lightweight formula enriched with luxe argan oil which nourished Dhwani’s lips and promised an intense color payoff that stayed intact all day long. Dhwani was all praises for Mausam’s choice of products and her skills. She said, “I absolutely loved the look she created for me. My eye makeup, in particular, was totally stunning! The electric blue on my lids stood out against the bronzed tones she gave me and it upgraded the look immensely. Even the lipstick she used was quite unique and the color was unlike anything I have used before. She is super talented and I’m so glad to have worked with her.” Something she could not help but notice was the long-lasting quality of the products, “The products didn’t fade throughout the shoot which I thought was remarkable. I hardly needed any touch-ups despite having to shoot outdoors.”
Dhwani’s Look
Makeup artist Mausam Gandhi started off by applying the Lakmé Absolute Blur Perfect Primer on Dhwani’s skin and then created a smooth canvas with the Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Serum in Ivory Cream. She set the foundation in by patting on the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet & Dry Compact in Beige Honey after which she turned her focus to her eyes. With the help of the Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute Eye Definer in Cobalt, she lined her lids and waterline. The Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos in Rose Blush was brushed on her cheeks for a flush of color and Lakmé Absolute Matte Ultimate Lip Color With Argan Oil in Orange County completed the look.
