Faarah Sarkari – Ritu Kumar

As part of our initiative WeddingSutra on Location, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at designer Ritu Kumar’s flagship store in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got an opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.

Here, in the first of the four-part series, bride-to-be Faarah Sarkari writes about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at Ritu Kumar.

“Like any other bride-to-be, I was researching for references for my upcoming wedding in December this year when I came across WeddingSutra on Instagram and Facebook and I was hooked.  And I would look forward to reading about their monthly bridal event- WeddingSutra on Location. It sounded amazing- after all, which bride-to-be would not want a bridal wardrobe consultation, a trial make up & hair session and a professional photo shoot before the D-Day? That moment itself I knew that writing to them would be my first step into making my dream wedding come true! And I was ecstatic when I got to know that I was one of the shortlisted brides for the On Location shoot at Ritu Kumar’s Store.

My experience at Ritu Kumar began with a warm introduction with the WeddingSutra team, the experts that they had invited and the other three brides-to-be. Soon I was looking through the shortlisted outfits with constant help and attention from Team WeddingSutra who ensured we were having a good time always! After multiple trials, I decided on a vibrant lehenga choli in a lovely combination of pink and orange with beautiful gold work on it. It was complimented with a yellow dupatta which added color and grace to the look.

Next up was my makeover with the very talented Makeup Artist Amrita Sanghavi & her team. She briefed me about the look she would like to create and went on to give me a bold look for my eyes with a shade of coral for my lips. And then with my hair, she pinned them onto one side with luscious curls flowing down one shoulder.  A beautiful raani haar and matching earrings by Azva completed my look.

And finally, was the much awaited photo shoot with Dev Purbiya. With his friendly and easygoing nature, he made the shoot such an enjoyable one. I sincerely thank the entire team of WeddingSutra for giving me this wonderful opportunity!”

Faarah’s Look
Since Faraah was wearing a vibrant lehenga, Makeup artist Amrita Sanghavi chose to go neutral with her makeup. Faraah has deep set eyes, so Amrita started with Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Concealer in Fair around her eyes and then used Lakmé Absolute Mattreal White Intense Skin Cover Foundation in Ivory Fair to create a base. She later applied the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Compact in Ivory Fair to set the base. Amrita decided to go bold with her eyes while keeping the rest of the makeup nude. She used Lakmé Absolute Gel Addict Eyeline in Metallic Bronze to create a shimmering effect. She added a smokey effect with the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate on the upper and lower lash line and finished with a coat of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara to open up her eyes and intensify the look. Since the eyes were highlighted, Amrita applied a soft Rose Bloom shade from the latest Lakmé Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi-Definition Matte Lipstick range. Finally for the hair style, Amrita gave some texture to Faarah’s crown area and gave soft side swept bangs which completed her trendy look.
