Discover her transformation at Grand WeddingSutra on Location held at JW Marriott Sahar
For the grand edition of our monthly event WeddingSutra on Location, we invited seven brides-to-be for a unique experience at the newest five star hotel in Mumbai, JW Marriott Sahar. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got an opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here, in the fourth of the seven-part series, Entrepreneur and bride-to-be Mubina Kapasi writes about her experience at the Grand WeddingSutra on Location.
“How do I even describe how I felt at the Grand WeddingSutra On Location shoot. Royal, special and excessively pampered. No, maybe much more.
It all started as I entered JW Marriott’s cosy suite, and was warmly greeted by team WeddingSutra. And then an array of beautiful lehengas from AZA was awaiting my selection, making it difficult to choose just one! But team WeddingSutra came to my rescue. They suggested an orange lehenga saree by Sabyasachi and nobody says no to a Sabya! It was embroidered with gold work all over and a contrasting green border. At the risk of stating the obvious, the outfit looked regal and it fit me perfectly!
Next it was time with Team Ojas Rajani who did a great job using hair extensions to convert my short and practical hairstyle to something stylish to match the magnificence of my saree. Then it was time for makeup. I knew I was in safe hands because I have seen Ojas’ magic on WeddingSutra. Nevertheless, he put me at ease with our informal conversation, and joking about how he was going to make me look like Rakhi Sawant! After he was done working his magic on me, I barely recognized myself! The foundation and the eye make-up transformed me from plain Jane to a ramp model. I had a new face that I wished would stay on me forever!
The grand finale was the photo shoot with Ashwin & Jhalak from Shades Photography, which took place at Romano’s restaurant and then at the beautiful outdoor lawns of JW Marriott. My job was simple, look at the camera! It was the photographers who did the magic. They knew where to make me stand, under what light, before what backdrop and how I should pose. I simply followed their instructions and they managed to get the best out of me!
So we’re talking about a resplendent saree, makeup that complemented the outfit in a better than perfect way, a regal restaurant and fiercely dexterous photographers. And I have none other than WeddingSutra to thank for helping me tick this memorable experience off my bucket list!”
Mubina’s Look
Mubina was open to experimenting with her makeup and relied on makeup artist Ojas Rajani to give her a sultry red carpet glamorous look. After creating a base with the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation in Beige Honey and setting it with the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Compact in Golden Medium, Ojas moved on to highlight her eyes. She used the Lakmé Absolute Eye Chromatic Baked Shadow in Day Sheer duo shade which gave a shimmery dewy look to her eyes. The corner of her eyes were then given a smokey effect with the Lakmé Absolute Ultimate Kohl. She then sculpted Mubina’s jawline and cheekbones with the Lakmé Absolute Sun-Kissed Bronzer which highlighted her sharp features. For her lips, Ojas used the bold Flaming Orange shade of Lakmé Absolute Gloss Addict. Mubina originally has a short bob hairstyle and a strong jawline, so Ojas added hair extensions for her and styled it with soft waves using a hair wave maker. She then put them all onto one side to complete the glam look.
