Discover her transformation at WeddingSutra on Location held at Ritu Kumar’s flagship store in Lower Parel, Mumbai
As part of our initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Ritu Kumar’s flagship store in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here in the second of our four-part series, bride-to-be Krittika Gangwani writes about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at Ritu Kumar.
“I live in Dubai and I’m getting married next month. A few weeks before my trip to Mumbai for my wedding shopping, I was spending a lot of time on WeddingSutra’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/weddingsutra
When I entered Ritu Kumar’s store I was a little nervous albeit quite excited too. I had spent two weeks in Mumbai searching for lehengas, and now I had to go through this mind-boggling (yet fun) task again. However, here, it was all very quick, and in a matter of minutes one lehenga caught my attention- it was a lovely red lehenga fully embroidered with zardozi work. I spent a a little more time looking at the ensemble, and I loved it. And after I tried it on, I knew this is it. The team then helped me accessorize the outfit with jewellery by Azva- a gold set teamed with jhumki earrings.
Next, it was time for the Lakmé Absolute makeover by Ojas Rajani. She first chatted with me and made me feel very comfortable and then I sat quietly while she dramatized my eyes and gave me a voluminous hairstyle with soft curls (more details below).
After Ojas completed her magic, it was time to face the camera. I am not a camera-shy person, but with so much enthusiastic attention on me, I felt a little uncomfortable with facing the camera. But photographers Ashwin & Jhalak gently told me to feel less conscious and soon I was at ease while they clicked away.
All in all, everything was fun– searching for the perfect Ritu Kumar lehenga, getting dressed by Ojas Rajani, and the photo shoot with Ashwin & Jhalak. Soon, it was all over, and I kept smiling thinking about what a wonderful preclude it was to my big day! Thank you for this experience WeddingSutra.”
Krittika’s Look
Ojas softened Krittika’s face by focusing on the lip and eye makeup, and giving her hair extensions. She started with the dewy Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Foundation, also applying it on the eyelids. She dusted on the Lakmé Absolute Eye Chromatic Baked Shadow in Day Shimmer and contoured the eyes with Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate and the Lakmé Absolute Forever Silk Eyeliner, mixing shades of black and brown. Krittika wore dark brown lenses. Ojas added on false eyelashes to make her eyes look fuller, used an eyelash curler and then applied coats of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Mascara. She then brushed on a lot of Lakmé Absolute Moonlit Highlighter and Sun-Kissed Bronzer to contour her cheekbones and jawline, deftly blending in the Lakmé Absolute Cheek Baked Chromatic Blush to give the cheeks a flushed peaches-and-rose look. She outlined the lip in nude pink, filling in with shades of burnt orange and coral pink from the Lakmé Absolute Lip Sync: 6-in-1 day and night palette to match the color of Krittika’s lehenga. She finished it with a hint of transparent gloss in the center of the lips to further plump them up.
