Manali Shah – AZA Fashions

As part of our initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at AZA, the multi-designer store in Juhu, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services. Here in the second of the four-part series, bride-to-be Manali Shah shares her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at AZA.

“I got a feel of ‘WeddingSutra on location’ when I accompanied my fiancé Jinesh to WeddingSutra on Location for grooms-to-be at the Raymond store. Seeing how the experience gave Jinesh so much clarity on his wedding wear I personally expressed my interest to the WeddingSutra team, as I was sure it would be helpful and beneficial to me too. To my delight, I got invited to their upcoming shoot at AZA.

When I reached AZA on the day of the shoot Stylist Nisha Kundnani helped me get started, we spoke about what brides are wearing these days, and she recommended a shaded blue & green net lehenga (by Hyderabad designer Anushree Reddy). The lehenga had floral tassels and was paired with a short candy pink sequined blouse. With such a unique blend of fresh colors, I was keen to try it on, and once I did, I felt it was a great option for me. In fact, I was already convinced that I wanted to wear an ensemble in a similar color combination for one my wedding events. After I wore the dress, Nisha helped me pair it with some traditional yet contemporary gold jewellery by Azva.

Next on the schedule was Makeup & Hair. I was extremely nervous about doing something very different, but Makeup Artist Recinda Martis convinced me to experiment with my look. She gave me a subtle and fresh look, and styled my hair into a young-looking and chic tie-up, something I wouldn’t have considered earlier. After it was done I looked at myself in the mirror, and I smiled, happy that I had tried something new.

Finally, it was time for the photo shoot with Candid photographers Ashwin & Jhalak of Shades Photography. They are a very talented duo and full of energy; they energized all the brides-to-be to pose happily and brought out the ‘model’ in me. The best part of the whole experience was how it made me feel so special. Every girl dreams to be styled well and look glamorous on her wedding day, and I was lucky to get a feel of it before hand, thanks to WeddingSutra!”
