Miloni, Anita Dongre Store, Mumbai
Flawless makeup courtesy Lakmé, a quintessential red ensemble by Anita Dongre and beautiful jewelry transformed Miloni into a chic bride.
WeddingSutra, in collaboration with Lakmé Absolute and Anita Dongre, brings you ‘WeddingSutra on Location’ – a curated showcase of top bridal trends and style statements from some of our WeddingSutra Favorites.
The latest edition of this popular bridal initiative took place at the sprawling Anita Dongre Store in Mumbai. In the first of this three-part series, bride-to-be Miloni stepped into the world of the best bridal styles and services to be transformed into the bride she dreams of being.
Weddings are wonderful but you’re resigned to having your lipstick fade given the long ceremonies, a full buffet, first toasts, much kissing and more. Hang on. The pros say ‘no’. There’s another way. All you have to do is find The One! With the help of trusted makeup artist Mausam Gandhi, Miloni discovered the lipstick she was meant to be with.
Miloni sat back and let Mausam pick The One from the Lakmé Absolute Matte Ultimate Collection. The expert makeup artist used products from the Kareena Kapoor Khan collection to up Miloni’s glam quotient and give her a dreamy aura. To go with her beautiful makeup, WeddingSutra experts chose a red lehenga from Anita Dongre‘s latest bridal couture capsule collection inspired by the art of Pichhwai. They paired it with stunning bridal jewellery from the Pink City by Anita Dongre range. And team Whatknot made sure the bride felt entirely at ease while posing and captured memories of the day deftly.
Using trusted products from Lakmé’s newest range – the Lakmé Absolute Matte Ultimate Collection as well as the existing Kareena Kapoor Khan Collection by Lakmé Absolute, Mausam created a wonderful bridal visage on Miloni. The look was a hit and Miloni’s excitement could not have been more evident when she spoke to us about it, “Mausam was excellent! She made me look so glamorous! She really understood my skin type, asked me a few questions to understand what I’m comfortable with and then worked her magic. She was great and knew exactly what would work for my face.”
Miloni’s striking red lehenga by designer Anita Dongre had a voluminous skirt that presented minute detailing and baroque style handiwork inspired by the art of Pichhwai. Miloni says, “I was dithering between a pink or red lehenga for my wedding ceremony. This shoot helped me make up my mind. The red lehenga I ended up wearing caught my attention from the moment I saw it. The color was very traditional but after wearing it, I realized how well it complemented my skin tone.”
Jewellery from the expertly curated Pink City by Anita Dongre range glittered with delicate detailing. Miloni’s wrist was adorned with gold bracelets, and she flaunted a beautiful ring too. She says, “I wore the most gorgeous jewellery that matched perfectly with my lehenga. The beautiful gold kadas, earrings and the large ring were very versatile. The instant I put them on the whole look came together.”
Miloni was also charmed by team WhatKnot who ensured she was at ease all day, “The photographers made the entire shoot feel so effortless even for someone who is an amateur at posing for a camera.”
Miloni’s Look
The highlight of Miloni’s makeup was the understated nude lips and the entire visage was created to complement this feature. Makeup artist Mausam Gandhi began by using the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Foundation that imparted a silky finish. To set it, she patted on a layer of Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet & Dry Compact. The Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette – Gold was her trusted tool in creating that glimmer. To draw further focus to the eyes, she lined the waterline with Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ulitmate in Black. The Lakmé Absolute Matte Ultimate Argan Oil Lipstick in Brunch Nude completed the princess bride’s look.
