Discover her transformation at WeddingSutra on Location held at Monisha Jaising’s store in Pali Hill, Bandra, Mumbai
As part of our initiative WeddingSutra On Location, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Monisha Jaising’s store in Pali Hill, Bandra, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got an opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here, in the third of the four-part series, bride-to-be Mubaishra Mirza writes about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at Monisha Jaising.
“The moment I entered Monisha Jaising’s store in Pali Hill I was taken in with the very chic and glamorous feel of the place. A team member of WeddingSutra greeted me with the warmest smile and we started off by carefully sifting through the collection. Even before I entered the store I was clear about one thing– I wanted a modern and non-traditional bride look. A style that defined me and not what an Indian bride is supposed to look like. And Monisha Jaising’s collection well-matched my style ethos. With so many looks on display- from glamorous gowns to stylish lehengas it was hard to pick one outfit without being tempted by another. But finally, team WeddingSutra and Ojas, the amazing Makeup Artist helped me and we chose a gold beige lehenga, with red and pink floral motifs and teamed with a delicately constructed chantilly lace blouse.
With my outfit selected, Ojas then worked her magic and gave me a bold, high fashion hair-do which she was convinced I could carry off. Since I love pushing the envelope, I agreed! The outcome was gorgeous big hair, sultry smoky eyes and nude coral lips.
It was then time to co-ordinate the jewellery. I have never worn heavy gold jewellery but the gold earrings and neck-pieces from Azva and Gehna looked interesting. After wearing the gold choker with a pearl drop and matching earrings, I felt it looked great and completed the look.
Finally, the last and most fun part of this experience was the candid photo shoot with Photographer Aditi Varma. I am not camera shy so posing for her was fun and exciting all the way.

Mubaishra’s look
Mubaishra was wearing a ‘Mughal ethnic’ lehenga by Monisha Jaising, and Ojas wanted to give a modern twist to her makeup look. Ojas started by creating a base with the Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse and enhanced her cheekbone by contouring it with Lakmé Absolute Sun- Kissed Bronzer, still maintaining the brightness of Mubaishra’s face. Ojas gave her bold smokey eyes by applying Lakmé Absolute Color Illusion Pearl Shadow in Peach Pearl and Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate followed by coats of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eye Mascara. Ojas didn’t use a dark lip color in order to balance out the bold eyes but instead used Lakmé Absolute Lip Tint in Peach Please. She gave her a tousled and tonged wavy hair so she could carry the glamorous look with elan to compliment her personality.
