WeddingSutra’s most popular bridal initiative, WeddingSutra On Location, was held at the beautiful Raw Mango store in Colaba. In the first of this three -part series, bride-to-be Nijhum Patra shares her experience at ‘WeddingSutra On Location‘.
Looking majestic in a bright red lehenga paired with a royal blue blouse and a dupatta from Raw Mango, Mumbai, with makeup by the talented Kajol R Paswwan using Lakme Absolute and wearing bespoke gold jewellery by Azva, Nijhum’s bridal look was captured by ace photographer Stuti Sakhalkar Dasgupta of The Cheesecake Project.
“I’ve been following WeddingSutra on all their social media platforms for the longest time. I love that all the information and inspiration is easily accessible. So when my friend suggested I write in about the WeddingSutra on Location, I was very excited and dropped them an email immediately. I soon received a confirmation!”
“Since I’m Assamese, our traditional bridal outfit is usually white and gold in color. But since I got an opportunity to explore gorgeous outfits of different colors at the trial, I was more than excited to make the most of this occasion. I’m a huge fan of silk, so the outfits at the store and creation displayed there really mesmerized me. Picking a bright red lehenga impeccably designed with a royal blue blouse made me look like a princess. The timeless jewellery from Azva made the entire look stand out. The perfect combination of sophistication and luxury, the outfit was paired with handcrafted gold necklace set with a beautiful maang tika. Kajol R Paswwan did my make up using the finest from Lakme Absolute to give me a very elegant and chic look that perfectly complemented my ensemble.”

Nijhum’s Look
Kajol decided to use a soft makeup base to accentuate Nijhum’s natural features. She began with the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Foundation and a light brush of the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact to give her a flawless base. Then a tinge of color to the cheeks with Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick for a natural blush. Her gorgeous eyes were accentuated with generous coats of the Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Volume Mascara and the Lakmé Absolute Precision Eye Artist Kajal in black. The cherry on top was a hint of color on the lips – the Lakmé Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi Definition Matte Lipstick in Burgundy Affair.
