WeddingSutra’s most popular bridal initiative ‘WeddingSutra On Location’ took place at the creatively designed The Perfect Location, Faridabad. In the second of this three-part series, bride-to-be Ritika threw caution to the wind and gave way to styles and trends that she had never tried before only to appear in an all-new avatar that was utterly captivating.
When it comes to makeup trends there are some that come and go without making a sound and others that shake up the status quo, take charge and lead the pack.
Recently, blue eye-makeup has been making waves and bride-to-be Ritika caught the curl in time. She had by her side makeup artist Mya Dang who used products from Lakmé’s latest range, the Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute. With her skill and artistry, she used those blue accents to elevate the rest of the look.
From the extensive collection of exquisite Indian wear at Taneira, Ritika picked an outfit that was an exemplar of detailed thread work and finesse. Her attire also straddled the modern makeup and traditional Indian bridal aesthetics. To go with her look, she picked out ornaments from just Just Jewellery, each one carefully crafted with the aim to arouse awe and wonder. The day was filled with joy and Shutterdown transformed every moment into everlasting memory by deftly capturing every detail in beautiful frames.
Ritika, who has always found her confidence in pastels and neutrals decided to switch things up a bit. She said, “I usually pick muted colors for my outfits. However, when I saw this outfit from Taneira, it spoke to me and I decided I was ready to experiment. Needless to say, I was rather delighted to have given this a go!” The vibrant, lime green lehenga was bright with red and fuchsia details. The ensemble was paired with a blue dupatta that complemented it perfectly and added to the eye-catching palette. “Everything about this piece was beautiful –the hand embroidered motifs and the organza dupatta. The work was so neat and despite the heavy look, the outfit did not weigh me down or hinder my movements. I think that was quite remarkable,” she added.
When it was time to pick out her jewellery, a necklace set from Just Jewellery caught her eye. The sea green enamel squares that bordered intricate motifs were separated by rows of kundan and surrounded by pearl details. To go with this, she opted for a gorgeous kada, a pair of exquisite earrings and a mangteeka that made a statement.
Soon enough, it was time for her to hand over control to makeup artist Mya Dang and sit back as a look was created for her with products from the Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute collection. Mya’s take on the blue eye-makeup was the perfect taste of the trend without going overboard. She lined her lids with a soft blue liner that opened up her eyes and gave them a playful touch. Ritika was delighted. She said, “I loved Mya Dang’s work and I could not have imagined anything better! Even the products she used were great. It made the makeup last so long, there was no discomfort at any point throughout the day.”
As she bid adieu, she told us about how she’d found WeddingSutra On Location and how she felt about the day. “I keep track of every single post that WeddingSutra uploads on Instagram because I love the content so much. That’s how I came to know about this,” she said. She told us that she had a blast during the day and was touched by the support she got from Shutterdown. She said, “This is the first photoshoot I have ever been a part of and I was so comfortable! Ritika’s Look
To maximize the impact of the blue liner, Mya Dang began with Ritika’s skin. She prepped with the Lakmé Absolute Blur Perfect Makeup Primer and then applied Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Foundation in Ivory Glow. Using the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact she set the foundation and created a clean base. She added a pop of color to her look by lining her eyes with the bright Lakme Absolute Forever Silk Eyeliner in Blue Cosmos shade. A soft rosy glow was added to her cheek with the help of the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick. For the final finish, she lined Ritika’s lips using the Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute Lip Definer in Carnation and filled intense color with the Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute Lip Pout in Blushing Temptress.
