Shrena Hirawat – JW Marriott

For the grand edition of our monthly event WeddingSutra on Location, we invited seven brides-to-be for a unique experience at the newest five star hotel in Mumbai, JW Marriott Sahar. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got the opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.

Here, in the first of the seven-part series, bride-to-be Shrena Hirawat blogs about her experience at the Grand WeddingSutra on Location.

“I recently got engaged and was in conversation with my Wedding Planner Nidhi from Enjay Events, when she excitedly informed me that WeddingSutra was hosting a grand edition of their On Location event. I immediately logged on to WeddingSutra to check out the details and sent in my entry. A week later I received an email from WeddingSutra and it was the most exciting news!

The Grand WeddingSutra on Location took place at the all-new JW Marriott in Andheri (East), Mumbai. I entered their striking lobby and made my way up to the Suite where I was warmly greeted by team WeddingSutra. My rehearsal then started with looking through the array of gorgeous lehengas. After I sifted through them, I shortlisted a traditional Neeta Lulla lehenga and a contemporary creation from AZA (Sabyasachi). Since I will be wearing a traditional style for my wedding, I decided to get a little more experimental. The moment I tried it on, I knew this is what I want! It was a mint green lehenga with a gorgeous red blouse and a peach net dupatta. Being a designer myself, I appreciated the detailed intricate work, the cut and fit which seemed as though this piece was custom-designed for me. Team WeddingSutra agreed that it was flattering and my joy knew no bounds! I always wanted to wear a Sabyasachi lehenga and this was the moment.

Once the outfit was decided, we moved on to the makeover. Being a person who believes ‘less is better’ when it comes to Makeup, this was indeed the best before hand experience for D-day makeup and hairstyling. Ojas Rajani patiently explained the look and how we would go about it. Watching her talent and energy was fascinating and I loved the way she played with my hairstyle and the ease and finesse with which she worked with colors.

Team WeddingSutra then helped me accessorize my outfit with a stunning Azva gold choker, dazzling earrings and a bracelet.

< Now that I was ready it was time for the photo shoot with Ashwin and Jhalak of Shades Photography. The duo made me feel very comfortable and took lots of candid shots as we chatted and giggled away. And the pool side location was truly inspiring since I am planning a beach wedding.

All in all, the entire experience was fantastic and insightful! I’m so glad I now know what to expect and what might work well, and I can’t stop thanking WeddingSutra and my Wedding Planner Nidhi of ENJAY Events for highly recommending this!”

Shrena’s Look
Ojas Rajani decided to give her a modern look using a summer palette to compliment her face and outfit. Ojas started with using the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Concealer in Medium around her eyes and then applied the Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse in Beige Honey to even out her skin tone. She then set the base with the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact in Beige Honey. For Shrena’s eyes, Ojas used a jewel toned Jade Pearl shade of Lakmé Absolute Color Illusion Pearl Shadow to bring a summery pop, giving her a very modern-day bride look. She then added a smokey effect with the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate on the corner of her eyelids and finished with a few coats of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Volume Mascara. Shrena’s cheeks were given a luminous summer glow with a soft Pink Blush shade of Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos. Her lips were defined with the newest Lakmé Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi-Definition Matte Lipstick in Red Rush shade. Finally for the hair, Ojas gave her cascading curls which were pinned on one side. This hairstyle is perfect for summers as it stays longer and doesn’t get too frizzy.
