WeddingSutra’s most popular bridal initiative, WeddingSutra on Location, was held last month, at the unparalleled JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, in the heart of vibrant Andheri. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each participant got the opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.

In the first of the three-part series, bride-to-be Sneha Bhandari writes about her unique experience with WeddingSutra on Location at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar.

“As a fashion and lifestyle publicist, I already knew of WeddingSutra.com and its On Location feature. I was super impressed with the entire format – industry experts giving brides-to-be a flawless makeover – and I always wanted to be That Bride.

After I received an email from WeddingSutra informing me that I was selected for On location, I was very excited and was really looking forward to the experience! On this big rehearsal day I was welcomed by team WeddingSutra at the lobby of JW Marriott Sahar from where they took me to the suite where there were a beautiful range of outfits from AZA to choose from. My first choice was a creation by designer Riddhi Mehra – a beautiful orange lehenga. This modern-day lehenga had beautiful gold jhaali work, the choli featured a stunning back and a pre-stitched dupatta just enhanced the outfit. I tried it on and it fit perfectly.

Then it was makeover time! I have heard a lot about Amrita Sanghavi and was thrilled to know she was the Makeup Artist for the On Location shoot! I loved the makeup and hair she did for me. Simple, fresh, it looked very natural! She also shared tips about mascara application and how to achieve perfectly curled eyelashes.

To complete my look, Team WeddingSutra suggested jewellery from Gehna which was spectacular! I’m a big fan of polki/jadau jewellery and was happy to be adorned in it.

When we got to the photo shoot, I was initially self-conscious and nervous. However, duo Ashwin & Jhalak of Shades Photography made sure I was comfortable and kept talking to me during the photo shoot. I finally got into the groove and started enoying myself! I must have laughed a lot because Ashwin clicked some pretty good shots of me.

I loved every bit of the entire experience –from selecting the lehenga, to wondering how I’d look after a professional makeover! The best part was the entire team was very friendly and made me feel extremely special with all their love and care. I truly felt like a Bride!! Thank you Team WeddingSutra!”

Since we are heading into spring, Makeup artist Amrita Sanghavi decided to give a healthy flushed cheeks look to Sneha. Amrita started with applying the ultra-light Lakmé Absolute White Intense Skin Coverage Foundation in Ivory for a polished base and set it with the hydrating formula of Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact in Ivory Fair. To highlight the eyes, Amrita used the Lakmé Absolute Color Illusion Pearl Shadow in Peach Pearl and used the Lakmé Absolute Gel Addict Eyeliner in Black along the lash line and gave a sharp winged eye look. She finished with a few coats of the Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara. For the flushed cheeks, Amrita used a fluffy brush to apply the highly pigmented Lakmé Absolute Cheek Chromatic Baked Blusher in Day Sheer shade on the apples of Sneha’s cheeks for the fresh spring bride glow. Sneha has a gorgeous smile, and Amrita applied two coats of Lakmé Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi-Definition Matte Lipstick in Coral Flare to highlight them. Finally, her hair was styled in soft waves and a small section from the front was twisted and clipped to the side.
