Sonal, Trident, Bandra-Kurla, Mumbai
Bride-to-be Sonal's transformation into a classy Kannadiga bride with Kalyan Jewellers and Lakme Absolute.
The latest ‘WeddingSutra on Location’ session took place at Trident, Bandra-Kurla, Mumbai, in collaboration with Lakmé Absolute and Kalyan Jewellers. In the third installment of the three-part series of this popular bridal initiative, soon-to-wed Sonal was treated to a beautiful transformation, complete with a traditional outfit, an exquisite range of jewellery, and a beauty makeover.
Sonal wore a dazzling white and gold silk saree from Nallisarees, which was styled by Shikha Dhandhia who paired it with showstopping gold ornaments by South India’s favorite jewellery house – Kalyan Jewellers. The brand’s 109-year-old legacy of crafting fine jewellery is backed by the trust that they have built amongst their patrons through their commitment to quality and impeccable designs. Each piece draws inspiration from India’s rich past and makes its way into the hearts of modern brides who are rooted in traditions.
Sonal’s beautiful bridal look was thanks to makeup whiz Chanderlata of BrideMeUp by Chanderlata who dolled her up with statement eye makeup and a ravishing pout with Lakmé Absolute cosmetics. All the memorable moments of this special day were captured by Navin Varma Photography.
The day commenced with one of the most essential and alluring elements of a bridal trousseau, the jewellery! For her Kannadiga bride look, Shikha styled Sonal with spectacular pieces from the Kalyan Jewellers Rang collection – a range of statement pieces comprising gold and gemstone jewellery. While fiery red rubies represent love and passion, magnificent green emeralds represent nature, happiness and peace, making them a perfect choice for a bride to wear as she steps into matrimony.
Sonal was resplendent in the multi-layer Haraam with a Nakashi style ‘Mugappu’ (pendant), three-tier ruby emerald necklace, matching dangling earrings, ‘Hane Bottu’ (Maang Tikka‘/ Forehead Ornament) and bangles. She clasped an ‘Oddiyanam’ (waist belt) over her saree in a traditional style, and her long braid was accessorized with a striking ‘jada’ (hair accessory).
Picking out her favorite jewellery piece, Sonal shares, “I fell in love with the regal gold jada the minute I saw it, and I felt like a princess wearing it. It was very well designed and beautifully crafted.”
Shikha transformed Sonal into a traditional Kannadiga bride with a gorgeous embroidered white saree from Nalli that featured gold filigree and pops of red motifs teamed with a bright red blouse gilded with embellishments and appliqués. The saree was styled with a statement gold belt featuring pearl and gems. Sonal adds, “I felt the ensemble Shikha picked for me was the perfect representation of the intended Kannadiga bridal look, and it complimented the jewellery perfectly.”
Chanderlata of BrideMeUp by Chanderlata transformed Sonal into the quintessential blushing bride with cherry lips and flushed cheeks. While she used a number of products from the Lakmé Absolute range of cosmetics, the most striking was her statement lips thanks to the Lakmé Absolute Matte Revolution Lip Color – Envious Red. With nourishing raspberry seed oil, it ensured the smoothest application on her lips and left them feeling supple all day. Its long-wear formula and creamy texture resulted in no fading or cracking of color, and gave Sonal the most perfect pout. Its highly pigmented shade makes it perfect for photos and the hue suits all skin tones. Sonal shares, “I loved the bridal beauty look given to me by Chanderlata as she accentuated my best features, and the makeup felt comfortable through the day.”
Sonal’s Look
Chanderlata gave Sonal a glowing visage with statement eyes and blushing cheeks. She first applied the Lakmé Absolute Blur Perfect Primer for a smooth base, which was followed by the Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation Cream. She then set in the products with the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact. For Sonal’s eyes, she used pink hues from the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in Royal Persia for a striking smoky effect before lining them with Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate in Black. To add a pop of color to the cheeks and match the lids, she brushed on the Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Bush Duos in Pink Blush. The look was completed with Lakmé Absolute Matte Revolution Lip Color In Envious Red for a statement pout.
