WeddingSutra’s most popular bridal initiative, WeddingSutra On Location, was held at the beautiful JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu. In the second of this three-part series, bride-to-be Soumya Kulkarni shares her experience at the WeddingSutra On Location.
Hear Soumya’s first hand account of her bridal makeover where a gorgeous Sangeet look was created with the help of a beautiful powder pink, floral lehenga by Arpita Mehta, flawless makeup by Lakme Absolute crafted by the talented Ojas Rajani, bespoke gold jewellery from Azva and a fun-filled photo session with photographers WhatKnot.
“I’ve been following WeddingSutra on all their social media platforms for over more than four years now. I love that all the information and inspiration is easily accessible,” Soumya says, smiling, “I have always dreamed of a grand wedding. When everyone suggested I write in to the WeddingSutra on Location to get a chance to experience a special makeover, I was very excited and dropped them an email immediately. I soon received a confirmation!”
The experience always begins by picking the perfect lehenga. Soumya says, “We chose an embellished gold blouse and a floral printed lehenga from Silk Rosé collection by Arpita Mehta. Wearing the beautiful ensemble by a big designer on your big day is a big deal and every bride’s dream. The opportunity to wear this gorgeous creation had me beyond excited. The color complemented my skin tone and I think it suited my personality well. It was perfectly accessorized with the gorgeous jewellery from Azva. Then the talented Ojas Rajani chose the best products from the Lakmé Absolute range to accentuate my natural features and give me an effervescent glow! It was all the more exciting to get some essential tips from a celebrity makeup artist like her. Finally, the talented photography team of WhatKnot was so professional and helpful. They were not only patient with all of us, but really friendly.”
Soumya’s Look
Ojas started by applying the feather-light Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Foundation that evenly blends into the skin and then she set it with the hydrating formula of Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact in Ivory Fair. She used the Lakmé Absolute Precision Eye Artist in black to give Soumya a bold eye-liner and glittery eyes. Special attention was paid to Soumya’s lashes by applying couple of coats of the Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Volume Mascara for more definition. For the lips, Ojas chose to give her a Lakmé Absolute Lip Pout – Crème in Peach Please. And the crowning glory was her hair styled in simple curls.
