Former Miss India, model and actress Amruta Patki got married to her longtime beau Jyotindra Kanekar in an intimate Maharashtrian ceremony in Pune
The beautiful model and actress Amruta Patki met her husband- the handsome Jyotindra Kanekar alias Joe through a common friend; sparks flew and they both felt an instant connect! Four months later when Joe popped the question, Amruta readily agreed and the two decided to organize their very own lagna in true blue Maharashtrian fervor!
Welcome Party
The welcome party was primarily organized to bring together the couple’s close friends and relatives who live in different parts of the world. Since the event was a prelude to the upcoming functions, Amruta chose to keep her look minimal and wore a beautiful powder blue gown from Mapxencars with drop earrings and very light makeup to complement the relaxed atmosphere of the evening.
Mehndi
The Mehndi ceremony was a private affair with only her close friends and immediate family attending the ritual. Considering the pretty bride had organized her wedding herself (without hiring a wedding planner) she had a lot to do and therefore, had the least patience for her mehndi function! Amruta never fails to surprise her friends with her unpredictability and simplicity and chose to wear her favorite pajamas and her fiancé’s t-shirt for the pious mehndi ritual.
Wedding Look and Makeup
Her Maharashtrian wedding started with customary Vedic rituals in the morning, followed by a Kanyadaan and ultimately, the pheras, organized at the poolside of the luxurious Vivanta by Taj Blue Diamond in Pune. For her wedding ensemble, Amruta chose to skip designer labels and wore a beautiful heirloom red saree gifted to her by her mother-in-law. She kept her bridal jewellery traditional by wearing a stunning vintage choker necklace that belonged to Joe’s late aunt (Pragati Maushi), along with antique anklets, green bangles, and a beautiful nath to finish off her ultimate Peshwa look. Considering the beauty that she is, Amruta decided to skip makeup altogether and only resorted to wearing red lipstick and eyeliner to bring out her natural bridal glow.
Reception
Since both Amruta and Joe are low key, their reception had a very short guest list which included some of her model friends such as Diandra Soares, Anchal Kumar among others. This time, she went for a vintage glam look with a pale gold Sabyasachi Mukherjee saree gown that was gifted to her by the master himself. She accessorized the stunning piece with an exquisite diamond necklace, a statement ring and drop earrings by Kishandas & Co. Celebrity makeup artist Bianca Louzado designed a very glamorous yet subtle makeup look for her which very well complemented her gorgeous gown.
