After a three-year romance that began with a dating app match, influencer Anshula Kapoor and screenwriter Rohan Thakkar celebrated their union surrounded by their loved ones. As the eldest daughter of Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor and the late Mona Shourie Kapoor, and sister to actor Arjun Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor has carved a space of her own as a digital creator and mental health advocate. Her fiancé, screenwriter and filmmaker Rohan Thakkar, first met Anshula through a dating app in 2022, and the couple has been inseparable ever since. Following a romantic proposal in New York, they got engaged in July 2025 before hosting an intimate Gor Dhana (Roka) ceremony at the Kapoor residence in Mumbai.

Roka
For the Gor Dhana ceremony, Anshula had envisioned something that felt less like an event and more like home. Wedding celebrations began on a deeply spiritual note with an intimate Mata Ki Chowki attended by Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor and close members of the Kapoor family. The ceremony embraced understated elegance with warm floral arrangements, festive hues and a serene ambience that beautifully set the tone for the celebrations ahead. Anshula looked radiant in a champagne gold embellished lehenga paired with statement polki jewellery and a regal dupatta, striking the perfect balance between traditional grandeur and effortless sophistication.

Mehndi
The festivities gathered momentum with a lively mehndi celebration attended by Sonam Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor and Shabana Azmi, among other close family and friends. Inspired by timeless Indian celebrations, the décor embraced marigolds, rich shades of crimson, printed drapes and warm ambient lighting that evoked the comforting familiarity of cherished family gatherings. Traditional without feeling predictable, the setting celebrated colour, texture and emotion in equal measure.

Anshula complemented the vibrant celebration in a striking cobalt blue embroidered ensemble adorned with intricate gold threadwork and colourful accents. Layered turquoise jewellery added a refreshing contrast, while her effortless styling perfectly echoed the joyful spirit of the occasion. Chooda

Wedding
The celebrations culminated in a heartfelt wedding ceremony where Anshula and Rohan exchanged vows in the presence of their loved ones. Set against a soft palette of cascading white blooms with delicate blush accents, the décor exuded timeless elegance, allowing the couple’s love and cherished family moments to take centre stage. For her walk down the aisle, Anshula paid a moving tribute to her late mother, Mona Shourie Kapoor, by draping her 42 year old gold tissue and zardozi dupatta, the one heirloom she knew she wanted to carry into this new chapter. Built around this treasured piece, her Tarun Tahiliani bridal ensemble brought together intricate Kashida embroidery, rich zari work, a Bandhini Gharchola dupatta as a nod to the family she was marrying into, and delicate Phulkari borders that celebrated her Punjabi roots. Rendered in soft shades of antique rose, blush and muted gold, the ensemble felt timeless, deeply personal and beautifully reflective of her journey. Rohan complemented her in a textured ivory sherwani and turban, completing a wedding that was intimate, elegant and filled with heartfelt meaning.

Cocktail
The celebrations concluded with a glamorous cocktail evening where Anshula embraced a bold new chapter in striking sindoori red, a colour she felt was the perfect reflection of her first evening as a married woman. Reimagining tradition through a contemporary lens, her Amit Aggarwal ensemble began as a Banarasi brocade sari before being transformed into a sculptural corseted silhouette that retained the elegance of its original drape while turning the pallu into a modern couture statement. The look beautifully mirrored the sentiment behind the celebrations, honouring her roots while embracing everything that lay ahead, making it a fitting finale to a wedding that seamlessly balanced heritage with individuality.
