Actress Athiya Shetty ties the knot with cricketer beau KL Rahul at her dad Suniel Shetty’s mansion in Khandala.
After months of speculation, Athiya Shetty, daughter of iconic Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, tied the knot with cricketer KL Rahul at her father’s spacious Khandala mansion, Jahaan. The couple, who started dating around three years ago, had been introduced by a mutual friend. Their wedding at the Maharashtra hill station was an intimate affair.
The couple kick-started their wedding festivities with a haldi and mehndi, followed by a grand cocktail party. Videos from the location showed the beautifully lit-up mansion with party songs from “Besharam Rang” to “Dil Mein Baji Guitar” playing at the occasion.
For the haldi, the decor was abundant with marigolds. The happy bride wore a neutral beige outfit with gold embroidery work while her groom donned a similarly hued kurta. As they were showered with marigold petals, the couple were at their playful best!
The upbeat mehndi soiree saw pretty floral decor and fun moments that lit up against the misty hilly backdrop. In charming shots of the occasion shared by the bride on Instagram, she can be seen laughing and enjoying with her girl gang that included notable personalities like Krishna Shroff. Athiya looked radiant in a lemon-yellow chikankari lehenga, while KL Rahul sported a sage green kurta set. The evening continued with a rousing Sangeet, for which the bride changed into a chic white pantsuit with all over chikan-work and danced her heart out with her groom, friends, and family.
The wedding morning started with an intimate prewedding puja, for which the courtyard was filled with a canopy of jasmine strings and gorgeous linen in old world brocades in a soft mint palette. The bride looked pristine in a traditional silk saree and minimalist makeup.
The couple tied the knot with just 70 people. If reports are to be believed, the start-studded guestlist included Salman Khan, Jackie Shroff, Akshay Kumar, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli, among others. All eyes were on the bride’s outfit of choice, which was a subtle pink Anamika Khanna chikankari lehenga in silk with zardozi and jaali work. “A labor love” in the designer’s words, the ethereal outfit perfectly matched the actress’s subtle, elegant style and took 10000 hours to make.
