Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell
Late conservationist Steve Irwin's daughter got married in their family zoo in Australia.
Legendary Australian conservationist and zookeeper Steve Irwin’s daughter Bindi Irwin got married to her long-time boyfriend Chandler Powell amidst the coronavirus outbreak. The couple hosted their wedding ceremony at the Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, hours before the country’s wedding restrictions were enforced due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Following her late father’s footsteps, Bindi too has made her career as a wildlife conservationist and television personality. She met her now husband Chandler at the Australia Zoo where sparks flew between the two youngsters. She broke the news of their wedding on Instagram when she posted a picture of them kissing in their wedding outfits.
Due to the deadly pandemic, only the closest family members of the couple attended the wedding. While her mother Terri helped the bride get dressed for her special day, her younger brother Robert walked her down the aisle. The newlyweds also honored Bindi’s late father by lighting a candle in his memory.
The bride looked stunning as she was seen emerging out of a car in a white gown with an intricate lace and tulle skirt, which she paired with a delicately embellished headband. Interestingly, Bindi’s bridal gown resembled her mother Terri’s 1992 wedding gown.
Bindi made their engagement announcement in October last year on her Instagram post after dating Chandler for a few years. The duo had been planning their wedding for nearly a year and had to change plans due to the sudden coronavirus outbreak. Their love story began at the Zoo and it only felt right for the couple to wed there too.
