Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen, Taj Exotica Resort and Spa, Goa

Television actress Charu Asopa married model and entrepreneur Rajeev Sen in an intimate yet lavish wedding at the Taj Exotica Resort and Spa, Goa. The celebrations were attended by many celebrities including the groom’s sister, former Miss Universe – Sushmita Sen.

How They Met
The couple made their relationship public in January 2019, while Rajeev proposed to Charu in May. However, it was actress Sushmita Sen who broke the news ‘officially’ on Instagram. The couple’s romantic moments and candid emotions were captured beautifully and shared on social media. Check out some highlights of the celebrations below.

Rajeev and Charu’s wedding journey began with their court marriage, and once it was official, the couple went on to celebrate several pre-wedding events and wedding rituals with their loved ones.

Engagement
The couple’s engagement theme was inspired by a white wedding ceremony. Charu wore a stunning white gown with a lace bodice and tulle skirt while the groom looked dapper in black pants and a white jacket. The duo happily made their way to the beachfront setup at the Taj Exotica Resort and Spa where they exchanged rings, popped the champagne and had their loved ones cheering for them.

Prayer Ceremony
Charu and Rajeev made a picture-perfect couple at the pre-wedding prayer ceremony. She wore a pale pink lehenga with glittery embellishments and a golden belt holding a ‘kirpan’ (small dagger) which is considered auspicious in Rajasthani culture. Complementing his bride, Rajeev also wore a pale pink kurta for the occasion.

Mehndi
The couple’s mehndi ceremony saw Charu looking pretty in an embellished choli and floral lehenga while Rajeev opted for a beige and maroon sherwani.

Sangeet
For the sangeet evening, Charu wore an elegant white and gold lehenga and completed the look with ornate jewellery. Rajeev, on the other hand, wore a rust and orange kurta teamed with white trousers for the event. The decor for the lively evening was inspired by the rich and colorful Rajasthani culture.

The couple charmed everyone with their dance performances. Sushmita Sen and her boyfriend Rohman Shawl also danced on a duet followed by the rest of the family members.

Haldi
The haldi ceremony was hosted the next morning, and Charu looked every bit a glowing bride-to-be in her yellow ensemble and floral jewellery. Rajeev looked dapper in his pastel outfit. The couple shared many sweet moments which had everyone gushing.

Bengali Wedding
It was finally time for Charu and Rajeev’s traditional Bengali wedding. The decor for the indoor ceremony was understated and classy with a white mandap and red floral decorations. The bride wore a red lehenga, and the groom donned an ivory outfit. The happy couple was showered with love and blessings by their loved ones, and Sushmita Sen even shared some goofy videos of herself and family members welcoming her sister-in-law into the family with love.
