Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar, Goa
Actress Mouni Roy makes it official as she ties the knot with Dubai-based businessman and investment banker Suraj Nambiar at a destination wedding in Goa!
Popular TV actress and Bollywood siren Mouni Roy has finally introduced her beau Suraj Nambiar to the world as she tied the knot in a dual wedding ceremony on the cheery shores of Goa. When the pictures of their 3-day wedding festivities at the plush riverside Hilton Goa Resort in Candolim surfaced, fans online were sent into a frenzy! Capturing their wedding was WeddingSutra Favorite – Priyam Parikh Pictures who expertly captured the different facets of the union. While WeddingSutra Favorite – Puneet Gupta Invitations were at their creative best as they designed stationery that matched the vivacious duo’s personality and indulged the guests with thoughtful gifts.
Suraj, a Dubai-based entrepreneur, and investment banker, and Mouni reportedly first crossed paths in 2019 on New Year’s Eve in Dubai itself and fell in love. And, after almost two years of quietly dating and keeping their relationship under wraps, the couple decided to take the plunge in Goa at Hilton Goa Resort. Situated on a hilltop, offering panoramic views of the lush landscape and located approximately an hour away from the airport, this venue was ideal for the couple who had a number of film and TV fraternity friends in attendance. Some of these were actress Mandira Bedi and Mouni’s co-star Arjun Bijlani.
Starting off the pre-wedding festivities was a playful haldi celebration at 12 noon on the 26th of January, where the bride was a showstopper in a simple white embroidered lehenga accessorized by matching floral accessories. On the decor front, the couple decided to stay in sync with tradition as they swathed the venue in hues of orange and yellow. Seated in gleaming brass urlis, the to-be-weds were playfully slathered with turmeric and showered by flower petals by their family and friends.
Following the sunkissed haldi and a scrumptious lunch, Mouni got comfy for her bridal mehndi. Dancing to her favorite track, Mouni made a dashing entry while Suraj grooved along with her. Wearing a yellow lehenga with gold buttis paired with a tasseled halterneck choli, Mouni’s outfit was in tandem with the dress code for the occasion which was ‘bright lehengas and traditional kurtas’. Decorated by peach and red blooms, the venue exuded a sense of dreaminess as Mouni reclined on a comfy sofa to get her hands patterned with henna.
The next day, a serene Malayali wedding was on the cards to pay ode to Suraj who hails from Bengaluru. Donning a simple white saree with a bright red border accentuated by zari work, Mouni looked picture-perfect as she made her way to the mandap with her bridesmaids in tow. To accessorize her look she chose heavy gold temple jewelry that included a matha-patti, a nakshi work waist belt, jhumkas, bangles, a choker, and a long lakshmi haar. Suraj, on the other hand, kept it simple in a white kasavu lungi and a beige kurta. Adorned with breezy white drapes and fragrant jasmine blooms, the poolside floating mandap was minimalist yet stunning!
The following evening, a Bengali wedding was on the cards! Mouni donned a traditional red Sabyasachi lehenga with bold floral motifs paired with a double organza dupatta inscribed with the blessing ‘Ayushvati Bhava’ embroidered in gold zari on the hem. Contrasting his bride, Suraj donned an off-white embroidered sherwani that he accessorized with a layered pearl necklace. Hosted in the evening at a mandap decorated with pastel bougainvilleas and crystals, the union was, needless to say, a glitzy one. Staying in sync with tradition, Mouni entered the mandap hoisted up by her relatives with two paan leaves held up to cover her face.
The next noon, an easy-breezy pool party was on the cards where the newlyweds basked under the sun as they mingled with their friends. Donning a blue and white printed co-ord set Mouni rambled by the poolside with Suraj who kept it simple in a shirt and trousers.
Following the casual pool party, the glamor levels were given a leg up at the sangeet where Mouni showed off her moves in a glamorous gold lehenga. Contrasting her was Suraj’s outfit which consisted of a rich blue bandhgala and matching trousers. Equipped with a large dancefloor which was backed by an LED screen, the sangeet witnessed everyone having a good time as they shook a leg to their favorite tracks.
