Actress Parineeti Chopra and politician Raghav Chadha have taken the plunge with a serene wedding in Udaipur!
Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra and Aam Aadmi Party Leader Raghav Chadha have tied the knot at The Leela Palace in Udaipur after their all-white engagement in the month of May. Bollywood celebrities as well as influential politicians were in attendance at the much-awaited wedding that is one of the first in the line of celebrity weddings in the upcoming wedding season!
The couple has known each other for several years as they studied together at the London School of Economics. And, as fate would have it, their paths crossed again on the sets of the movie ‘Chamkila’ where Raghav was visiting with a friend. From thereon, they began courting for a year before they got engaged at Kapurthala House in New Delhi. The engagement, itself, created a bout of frenzy online as it was attended by Parineeti’s cousin sister and actress Priyanka Chopra along with several politicians including Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, former finance minister P Chidambaram, and Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray. The ivory decor and Parineeti’s classic round engagement ring also made headlines inspiring brides across the country.
The first glimmer of the wedding celebrations was noticed at Parineeti’s Mumbai residence which was lit up by festive fairy lights. Later, the couple with their families in tow boarded a plane from Delhi to Udaipur where they received a grand welcome on arrival. The festivities kicked off with a delightful wedding lunch for friends and family at The Leela Palace Udaipur.
Generously adorned with baby’s breath blooms and green foliage that stood out against the white-hued aisle – the wedding mandap exuded a sense of serenity. The day began with Raghav’s Sehrabandi, themed ‘Threads of Blessings,’ followed by the grand baraat themed ‘The Royal Procession.’ For her bridal lehenga Parineeti chose shades of beige and gold with statement emerald jewellery. And, as a special gesture, she had her veil embroidered with her groom’s name! Parineeti’s kaleerein was also personalised as each symbol or motif on it represented a chance when the couple crossed paths.
For her reception, Parineeti donned a delicate ‘Barbie’ pink saree that she matched up with pink chooda. Opting for minimalistic makeup and leaving her wavy hair open, Parineeti looked stunning in this caped saree style that she paired up with statement emerald jewellery. Striking a dashing contrast next to his bride was, groom Raghav in a sleek black tuxedo.
