Prajakta Koli and Vrishank Khanal, Oleander Farms, Karjat

Influencer and actress Prajakta Koli wed her long-time beau, law professional Vrishank Khanal, in an intimate wedding celebration surrounded by nature and her loved ones. Prajakta, known for her spunky and vivacious attitude, was in her element and at her stylish best as she plunged into marital bliss with Vrishank. Keen to keep the celebrations light and easy for their family, the couple chose Oleander Farms in Karjat, near Mumbai, where they hosted a series of picturesque events.

How They Met
Prajakta, at 18 years of age crossed paths with Vrishank, who was 22 at the time at a common friend’s house. After exchanging BlackBerry Messenger pins, the couple struck up a conversation over texts and soon realised that there was more than friendship brewing between them.

The Proposal
After more than a decade in the relationship, Vrishank popped the question to Prajakta in 2023 while on a camping trip to West Virginia with their respective siblings and cousins. The scenic waterfall trail provided a picture-perfect backdrop for the milestone moment.

Wedding Venue
True to their rooted and fun personalities, the couple chose a venue surrounded by nature’s bounty for their wedding. Eschewing the usual city venues, the couple chose Oleander Farms in Karjat which is located a one-and-a-half hour’s drive away from Mumbai. Encircled by lawns, lush hills and a lake, this venue gave the duo all the space they needed for their fun celebrations.

Wedding Planning
Overseeing the wedding planning was groom Vrishank as Prajakta was busy with her work commitments. Collaborating with planners The Dream Team, Vrishank with both the families ensured everything was just as they’d envisioned, right from the food to the decor. WeddingSutra Favorite – Knotie Production accurately understood the couple’s vision to design dreamy, colorful setups that were in tandem with the venue.

Wedding Functions
Welcome Lunch and Poolside Mehndi
The welcome lunch and poolside mehndi took a cue from classic Indian elements that were showcased in a modern way. Marigold blooms, blue and white printed backdrops, ikat prints and earthenware added an old-school charm and warmth to the celebration which made everyone feel right at home.

Haldi
The lakeside sunset haldi ceremony was just as picturesque. Keeping the setup minimalistic with sunflowers, brass urlis, wooden furnishings and arches – the event design cut a striking contrast with the natural surroundings. The couple chose ivory outfits for the occasion which made them stand out in every picture.

Wedding
Just before sunset, the couple hosted their wedding phera ceremony under the shelter of a majestic tree to symbolise life and growth. Opting for a white and sage color palette which was in tandem with the surroundings, the wedding mandap looked serene. Floral garlands, chandeliers along with ferns and foliage that matched the motifs on Prajakta’s lehenga added to the beauty of the occasion.

Reception
The following evening, the couple hosted a glam yet laid-back reception where they danced the night away to their favorite Bollywood songs. Donning a red Banarasi silk saree gifted to her by Vrishank’s family, Prajakta looked radiant. The Nepali equivalent of the mangalsutra called the ‘Pote Mala’ was also a part of her jewels. With its small green beads and ‘Tilhari’, which is the gold locket, the Pote Mala looked stunning with the red zari. Vrishank also donned a Nepali ‘Daura-Suruwal’ outfit to honor his roots.
