#TheDisHulWedding, the much-awaited marriage of singing sensation and Big Boss 14 contestant Rahul Vaidya and TV actress Disha Parmar was celebrated on the afternoon of Friday, 16th July 2021 at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai. Present at the intimate traditional celebrations were family members from both sides and close friends of the couple.
After a bachelorette party on Monday, 12th July the festivities kicked off with at-home Mehendi celebrations at the brides residence. Charming pictures and stories on their friends’ accounts revealed the happy bride-to-be wearing a bright pink and mint sharara, dancing and enjoying with her friends. The next day saw vibrant, fun-filled Haldi ceremonies at the bride and groom’s respective residences.
Guests were invited to one of the functions at Grand Hyatt which included the afternoon wedding, post wedding dinner cum reception and the sangeet. Interestingly, Rahul and Disha opted for a different sequence for their two-day wedding celebrations- the traditional wedding ceremony as the first function and the sangeet as the grand finale.
Rahul was seen donning an offwhite resham and gold zardozi sherwani by MARD by Abu Sandeep. Embroidered juttis, a gold safa and a kamarband gath joda completed his look. Disha looked radiant in a red ghagra from ASAL by Abu Sandeep’s Dancing Peacock range.
Rahul Vaidya has performed at many wedding sangeets over the last few years and has developed a great bond with top wedding planners. There was much excitement in the corridors of Grand Hyatt Mumbai where many wedding industry walas were at work at their dear friend’s wedding. The Events team of Grand Hyatt Mumbai helmed by Mahesh Salian, Director of Events and Yogesh Pansare, Banquet Manager pulled out all stops to make it an extra special experience for the guests who were stepping into the hotel after a long time while Sonia Paul, the Director of Marketing Communications effectively managed the press photographers who were excited to be at work at a celebrity wedding again.
Highlights of the glittery evening reception with fairy lights decor included cake cutting, speeches and a performance by Rahul’s close friend Toshin Sabri. The grand food and dessert spread curated by Chef Rakesh Kamble and Bakery Chef Sameer Khot was inspired by the signature dishes of the restaurants of Grand Hyatt Mumbai and popular world cuisines. After the long eventful day, the newly-weds and their families retired to their hotel rooms looking forward to the high-energy sangeet the next day.
The couple hosted a brunch the next morning at the Grand Hyatt. The couple was seen in easy breezy outfits for the relaxed event. Rahul wore an offwhite kurta while Disha was seen in a yellow kurta.
All roads led to the Grand Hyatt located near the Domestic Airport of Mumbai on Saturday night! The who’s who of Bollywood, India’s music industry and Mumbai society arrived at the grand ballroom to wish the newly-weds. The most-awaited moment finally arrived when Disha and Rahul took to the stage to dance to Mere Mehboob, Sweetheart, Le ja le jaa and a few more tunes. The dancing, clapping and cheering continued with choreographed performances by family members and closest friends.
