After two years of waiting and a decade of dating, Bollywood actors Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal celebrated their wedding in Lucknow, Delhi and Mumbai.
Bollywood actors Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal celebrated the wedding after waiting for more than two years due to the pandemic. The couple who had already formalised their union two and a half years ago, finally, painted the town red as they kick-started their wedding celebration in style. Designing their ‘Save The Date’ and wedding invitation was WeddingSutra Favorite – Puneet Gupta Invitations who keenly understood the couple’s personalities and echoed them in its unique designs. WeddingSutra Favorite- Tailormade Experiences was their wedding planner who carefully curated each event. WeddingSutra Favorite – Purple Tree events beautifully designed their sangeet and mehndi decor.
Richa and Ali’s love story began during the shooting of the movie ‘Fukrey’ where both of them played significant roles. However, Ali was already impressed by Richa as he’d watched her performance in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. For the couple, these wedding celebrations have been a long time in the making as they initially had planned a set of festivities in 2020. Unfortunately, the pandemic delayed it twice, during the first and second waves. The wedding was an intimate affair in his home town Lucknow while they planned two Receptions- one at the Delhi Gymkhana and the other at Great Eastern Mills in South Bombay.
The festivities kicked off with a Mehendi cum Sangeet. Richa shared a glimpse of her henna-patterned hands which features their wedding initials and a kitty design on the back.
For the sangeet, the couple complemented each other in ivory outfits. While Richa wore an ethereal lehenga with pink and grey accents, Ali donned an ivory angrakha.
Later on, for the evening, Richa donned a rich green kurta set with sheer panels and embroidery work. The bride’s henna-patterned hands which flaunted a unique lotus design complemented the outfit perfectly. Ali, on the other hand, kept it simple in an off-white sherwani.
The couple then went on to celebrate with a pre-wedding reception at Delhi Gymkhana where the duo embraced their traditional side- Richa wore a gold sari while Ali wore a heavily embroidered sherwani.
The couple wed in an intimate ceremony at Ali’s hometown, Lucknow. Wearing ivory outfits, the duo exuded regal elegance. While Richa looked stunning in a mukaish work gharara which she paired with a passa, Ali looked dapper in a sherwani.
The Mumbai reception was a star-studded vent where the guests had a gala time grooving to all-time hit Bollywood tracks that were remixed by DJ Ganesh. The bride looked stunning in a boho gown while Ali looked dapper in a wide-shouldered indo-western sherwani. Songs from Ali’s movie ‘Fukrey’ were played all night long along with hit tracks from Sanya Dutt’s movies. For the couple, DJ Ganesh exclusively crafted a remix of the song Ambarsariya from Fukrey which made the couple nostalgic. This was also fused with hip-hop and RnB music – which is Ali’s favourite genre. The groom was on the dance floor till the last hours of the celebration and was joined there by Fukrey co-stars Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma.
