Actress and Influencer Shama Sikander tied the knot with businessman and long-term beau James Milliron in a fairytale wedding at Goa’s iconic W Hotel. Stunning Instagram shots offer a glimpse of their intimate festivities where they took their vows in a whimsical white wedding, followed by a formal Reception.
Having dated for seven years before deciding to tie the knot, the couple had traveled the world and considered many gorgeous locations for their dream wedding. With all the travel restrictions of Covid, however, they decided on a cozy gathering in India with 80 of their closest friends and family. The celebrated team of Morani and Soorma was roped in to plan and manage the celebrations, while Iskra Events and Celebrations looked after the decor.
Coming from different cultures, the couple wanted their wedding to be fun, relaxing, and filled with good vibes without being too bound by tradition. Imagined as one big party, the getaway kicked off with a Brazilian-themed welcome lunch at the Woo Bar, complete with boho decor, Samba and flamenco dancers, live grills, and more.
The Sangeet evening took their guests on a trip through a wild jungle disco, with live acts in animal costumes, lush green decor, and a dash of bling to match the vibe of W’s rockpool. The evening saw incredible dance performances and music, but James stole the show with a song that he sang for Shama. The evening had a number of celebrity friends in attendance, including music composer Meet Brothers and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, among others.
Inspired by Miami Beach pool parties, poolside shenanigans kicked off the final day of celebrations. The fun, breezy affair saw pastel decor, professional dances, white henna artists, a cowboy hat wall, and a Jamboree, not to mention tons of pool fun.
The romantic floral wedding changed the pace of their celebrations, casting an ethereal ambiance over the occasion. A vision in white, Shama walked down the aisle to the simple yet stunning wedding arch where she took her vows with James in a beautiful ceremony officiated by their best friend and acclaimed writer Saiwyn Quadros. The tranquil melody of Violin players perfectly completed the dreamy affair.
The reception had a touch of the old-world charm with string lights, chandeliers, and antique furniture. The newlyweds toasted to their married life with glasses of champagne and heartfelt speeches. The guests enjoyed cocktails as the couple shared their first dance and cut the cake, followed by a formal sit-down dinner.
