Actress Ankita Lokhande who has been creating a buzz in Bollywood as well as the Telly world, tied the knot with her billionaire beau Vicky Jain in a grand wedding ceremony in Mumbai. The duo who have been dating for almost three years first met through mutual friends and developed a close bond over the years. Apart from the splendor of festivities, it was also Ankita’s wedding wardrobe that caught everyone’s attention! Taking a break from the usual rich tones, Ankita was the spotlight’s muse as she rocked a variety of outfits that looked absolutely stunning!
Pre Wedding Festivity:
For the first of the pre-wedding festivities, Ankita played the part of the Maharashtrian bride to perfection. With her forehead adorned with a Mundavalya she donned a traditional leaf green saree with a pink border. Green glass bangles tinkled merrily on her wrist and a matching choker-jhumka set completed the look.
Pre Wedding Festivity:
For another of her pre-wedding festivities, Ankita donned a bright yellow saree with orange borders which she paired with gold temple jewelry and a zari woven shawl. With her wrists covered in green bangles and gajra adorning her hair, the look was purely traditional with its careful use of bright hues.
Mehndi
Ankita’s bridal mehndi event was kept simple and intimate. Glowing in a red-hued indo-western outfit, she grooved with Vicky surrounded by her family and friends. Accentuating her looks was a necklace set encrusted with pastel-colored gemstones while in the hair department, the bride kept it fuss-free with a messy braid.
Merging comfort with style, Ankita chose a lightweight yet vibrant lehenga for her Mehndi celebration! In a hue of rich white with colorful embellishments all over the skirt and blouse, this lehenga allowed Ankita to dance the bhangra effortlessly while holding her henna patterned palms aloft. Accompanying her beautiful lehenga was a scallop-hemmed blush pink dupatta, a matching set of jhumkas, a choker necklace and a maang tikka. Tied up in a ‘half up’ braided hairstyle her locks were neatly tucked aside while her makeup was kept tastefully neutral with a pink pout and rosy cheeks.
Engagement
Shedding her traditional avatar Ankita opted for full glam on her Engagement night. The bride wore a black gown with silver sequins that sparkled like the midnight sky. It had a long flowing cape with shoulder cut-outs. Keeping accessories to a minimum with a pair of statement earrings and a ring, Ankita went with a sleek hairdo that allowed her pin-straight locks to sit neatly tucked behind her ears allowing her sparkly earrings to be in full focus.
Sangeet
For the Sangeet, Ankita chose a shimmering silver lehenga created by ace designer Manish Malhotra. Crafted out of holographic sequins and accompanied by a feather-lined dupatta, this outfit made her the spotlight’s muse. Paired with a layered diamond necklace and earrings, Ankita artfully balanced the bling while keeping her hair tied back in a loose, middle-parted ponytail.
Later on, for her solo sangeet performance, Ankita slipped into a full-sleeved white lehenga embellished with mirror work. Adorned with an intricately embroidered neckline, the bride kept accessories to a minimum as she enchanted everyone with her moves.
Haldi
Ankita went delightfully classic with a red sharara set for her Haldi. She exuded traditional glamour with gold gota patti work on the hem and more gota across the entire kurta as well. Her hair was swept back in a bun and adorned with a pristine white gajra, and her makeup was kept to a minimum with only her statement earrings adorning her ears.
Wedding
Taking the less trodden route Ankita chose an elegant yet glamorous gold lehenga for her big day. With heavy embellishments all over, this monochrome lehenga was fit for a modern-day Maharani who is fearless about tapping into her roots. Paired with kundan necklaces, a matha patti, nath, earrings, kaleerein and a plethora of bangles, the outfit glowed under the sun. On the makeup front, the bride kept it extremely simple with dewy skin and a coral lip.
Reception
Last but not the least, Ankita made a vibrant statement at her reception bash! With a vivid red Banarasi saree draped around her, she channeled glamor in a quintessentially desi way. Paired with green bangles and a gold necklace set, this evergreen look was a classic that brides can never go wrong with!
