Actor Kevin Costner and accessories designer Christine Baumgartner were married at Costner’s ranch in Aspen, Colorado. The ceremony took place against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains. While the ceremony was designed to have a “down home” feel, the bride’s ruched ecru satin ballgown by couturier Monique Lhuillier was anything but homespun. Adorned with satin roses that complimented the crimson roses bound together in the bride’s bouquet, the strapless gown had a bustle effect which hearkened back to a more genteel age. An ivory veil woven with delicate gold wire and pearls at the crown was fastened to Christine’s blonde locks, which she wore loose. The groom paired a refined, dark grey cashmere suit by American designer Ralph Lauren with a grey and white polka dot tie and a crimson rose boutonniere.
