Actress Sobhita Dhulipala and actor, Naga Chaitanya, son of Telugu superstar Nagarjuna, made a splash as their highly anticipated wedding pictures made their way online. However, apart from the couple’s Telugu wedding rituals, Sobhita’s traditional attire and jewellery choices caught our eye! Brimming with a plethora of sarees that are beloved in the region, the actress’ gave each outfit a modern edge while showcasing her love for timeless textiles.
Engagement
For her engagement, Sobhita donned a refreshing peach ensemble with baby-pink borders embellished with gold threadwork. Accessorised with several layered kundan necklaces, matching bangles and statement earrings, the saree stole the show with its vibrant peach hue inspired by the regional Kanakaambaram bloom known for its rich orange hue.
Godhuma Rayi Pasupu Danchadam
Keeping it light and making a statement, Sobhita donned a stunning dual border or ‘ganga-jamuna’ border silk saree for the traditional Godhuma Rayi Pasupu Danchadam. Flaunting subtle check patterns and a wide zari border that was ivory on one side and a rich leaf green on the other, the dual-toned pink-red saree gave her the best of comfort and style. Green glass bangles, jhumkas and a gajra on her braid completed the look.
Mangal Snanam and Ratha Sthapna
At her sultry best, Sobhita’s Mangal Snanam and Ratha Sthapna look was a jaw-dropper! The mustard zari bodered saree draped in a ‘dhoti style’ was accessorised with a gold choker necklace, a long necklace, a gold armband, gold anklets and kadas. An unconventional bandeau blouse ensured complete comfort.
Pelli Kuthuru
Shobhita looked stunning as she donned a rich red saree with gold butti work which she paired with a full-sleeved high-neck blouse. A Vanki armlet, gold anklets, pearl finger gold necklace and jhumkas along with a statement maang tikka completed the look.
Wedding
For the big day, Sobhita sported two looks for her wedding rituals. A rich gold kanjeevaram saree with temple jewellery and gajra in her ‘poola jada’ paid tribute to Sobhita’s love for the Telugu culture. For the ‘Thali Bottu Kattadam’ ceremony, where the groom ties the mangalsutra/thali around the bride’s neck, Sobhita opted for a white saree with wide red borders. Traditional Telugu jewels, like, the Vanki armlet, Vadanam (the waist belt) along with several layered necklaces accessorised both her looks.
