Fashion world darling Sofia Sanchez Barrenechea married Alexandre de Betak, french fashion and furniture designer in a breathtaking ceremony on a deserted beach in the wilds of Patagonia, the location of family holidays for the Buenos Aires-born bride, who grew up visiting the tiny corner of Argentine paradise every summer. The bride was dressed by Valentino, in a tailor-made beaded and sequined gown that took an incredible 1,800 hours to make.
Sofia chose two different dresses by Rodarte for the evening. She wore the floor-skimming silk, tulle, and lace dress with diaphanous winglike sleeves and silver-and-cream embroidered flowers teamed with a flower crown from Maison Michel for the earlier part of the evening and then switched to a short feather-embroidered white lace–and–iridescent sequin frock for dancing until dawn to the sounds of Cumbia group Ráfaga.
