About Story Monk:
Born almost a decade ago as an expression of its founders, Story Monk is led by the husband-wife duo of Kailash and Shilpi chasing light and heartfelt stories of spirited souls from around the world. Taking the time to know your personalities and quirks, they honor every wedding celebration by capturing frames that are uniquely you.
Shilpi learned the art of visual narratives by assisting some internationally renowned American & European photojournalists based in Bombay. While working as an editorial photographer with different lifestyle magazines and newspapers, she felt the call to explore the intimate world of human emotions through contemporary wedding photography. Delhi-based Kailash on the other hand dabbled in IT for a few years before stumbling upon this visual medium with which he resonated deeply. His offbeat visual expressions gave Story Monk its unique storytelling identity.
Together the duo live in the Himalayan foothills of Rishikesh with their 13-year-old pet Zuzu (a female German Shepherd), where their switch from city life has helped them manifest their creative pursuits to their full extent. Looking beyond fancy formulas and repetitive laundry lists, they believe in portraying the whirlwind of emotions that make up a wedding. With their dynamic in-house team of editors and storytellers, they passionately travel across borders to capture the exhilarating tapestry of your life.
