From the flavors of London to the art and architecture of Paris, this wedding’s creative decor themes looked stunning against the raw mountain backdrop.
Hosted amidst the natural beauty and hilly vistas of Taj Aravali Resort & Spa, Udaipur, Aalisha and Jinaal Shah’s destination wedding was a picturesque celebration of love, planned to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorites – Kkings Events and vividly captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Knotting Bells. Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Themed around ‘Afternoon tea at Peggy’s’ inspired by one of Aalisha’s favorite cafes in London, the décor for the Mehndi was a confluence of all things pink and poised. Romantic pastel shades offset with a pop of sunflowers, one of Jinaal’s favorite flowers, were used to create a refreshing spring palette, while lush florals and greens juxtaposed against cane and jute, as well as the softness of macramé and lace to successfully create a rustic, boho setting for the afternoon.
Sangeet
Sprinkling the spirit of London with a desi flavor, the Sangeet night brought to mind the rousing energy of the hit song ‘London Thumakda’ from Queen. The decor for the evening recreated the bustling city lights of London with street lamps, awnings and string lights scattered throughout the setup. Plush furniture, chandeliers, English accents, iconic monuments and signages contrasted with the contemporary pops of neon to create a cozy setting amidst the mountains for a night of music, dance and revelries.
Pre-wedding brunch
The renowned ethereal beauty of ‘Water Lilies’ By Monet, one of Aalisha’s favorite works of art, inspired the tranquil decor of the pre-wedding brunch. Hues of blue, pink, purple and pastel florals came together with luxurious furniture to recreate the dreamy, delicate setting of the painting. Flanked by damsels in pink princess gowns, the couple exchanged rings in front of a bridge that was completely enveloped in an abundance of roses, hydrangeas and thousands of other flowers. The moment was nothing short of a fairytale.
Wedding
Driven by Aalisha’s love for the Eiffel Tower, the grand wedding combined the aura and elegance of Paris with the royal decadence of Indian celebrations. French architecture and floral aesthetics came together with rich gold elements and spectacular lighting in a magical setting. The stunning mandap recreated the sleek pyramid structure of the Louvre duly complimented by custom fabricated diya jaalis, a gorgeous floral canopy and a shimmering aisle flanked by flowers. Huge crystal chandeliers and acrylic accents juxtaposed with lush Indian floral arrangements to complete the setting to perfection.
