Aanchal Agarwal and Shashwat Garg’s union in Kathmandu was a serene affair surrounded by lush Himalayan beauty. Planned and designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – The Doli Diary, the union embraced the local Nepali culture and flaunted colourful themes that made each event a unique one!
Wedding Planning
Planning and designing a destination wedding includes an entire host of intricate details that have to be carefully calibrated. And, to ensure that their guests experienced the best of hospitality in Nepal while celebrating their love, Aanchal and Shashwat chose The Doli Diary. With their vast network, creativity and keen logistical minds, the planning team crafted a series of stunning events for the duo.
Wedding Functions
Welcome
Commencing with a warm welcome, Aanchal and Shashwat’s wedding celebrations began with a Nepali-style welcome. Neha Wadhawan from Doli Diary shares, “The guests were warmly received at the venue, embracing the true essence of Nepali culture. They were welcomed with the enchanting melodies of local music while being adorned with traditional gamchas and hats.”
White Wedding and Engagement
Aanchal and Shashwat’s white wedding, which also doubled up as an engagement, embraced a Bohemian theme, featuring an elegant pristine white wedding style, accompanied by a live ensemble. Team Doli Diary shares, “It was a picturesque boho-chic white wedding, set in a charming backyard. The venue was transformed with a touch of wabi-sabi, adorned with natural materials like bamboo cane, jute, simple bulbs, and enchanting fairy lights. The atmosphere was made cosy with fire pits, blankets, and s’mores, creating an inviting ambience. The celebration kicked off with a delightful cocktail hour, followed by a heartfelt exchange of fun vows and stories that told the beautiful tale of two souls finding each other.”
The groom made a striking entrance, accompanied by his entourage, while the radiant bride was escorted down the aisle by her parents. The couple then went on to exchange rings and heartfelt vows.
Haldi
Next in line was the unique poolside haldi that exuded a dash of whimsy. Be it a hat stand or an engaging game of life-size jenga, this event had something in store for all age groups. The bride and groom were twinning as they donned similar attires and interacted freely with the guests.
Sangeet
Neon blue lights, LED screens and a vast dancefloor ensured the sangeet event had everyone dancing the night away. Resembling a Bollywood party scene, the lights played a significant part in setting the mood of the event. Aanchal and Shashwat’s grand entrance set the stage ablaze, and the family’s performances added to the enchantment of the event.
Wedding
Swathed in delicate hues of lilac, the garden-based wedding was as dreamy as a fairytale!
With splendid arches adorned in lilac flowers, life-sized floral props in shades of white and lavender, and an exquisite mandap – the venue was transformed into a breathtaking dream. Aanchal made a grand entrance, gracefully dancing her way to the podium where the couple exchanged varmalas.
Reception
For the reception, the night was lit up with fireworks with the couple making a dazzling entrance as newlyweds. Candle holders, fairy lights that cast a golden glow over the event and a live band added to the magic of the night.
