Aditi and Mayur, Nainital
Move over vintage car grand entries! This groom rowed in on a boat for his tranquil lakeside wedding.
Having spent a large chunk of their childhood in the lap of the Himalayas, it was only befitting for Aditi and Mayur to tie the knot amidst the transcendent natural beauty of Nainital. Here are a few glimpses of their idyllic wedding celebrations.
How They Met
The bride shares, “They say the best relationships grow out of friendships. We have known each other for over a decade now, our friendship stayed strong through all the highs and lows. It all fell into place when we realized that through all the people who have come and gone in our lives, we had been a constant for each other. Apart from our enduring friendship, we also share a love for food and travel.”
Wedding Venue
Both hailing from a Defense background, and also having spent a great deal of their growing up years among mountains, the couple naturally envisioned a serene mountain wedding surrounded by lush greenery. With the added bonus of a beguiling lake view, Nainital was the perfect destination. They celebrated their big day amidst select close friends and family at the dreamy Lake View Resort, indeed the perfect choice.
Wedding Planning
“Choosing a fantastic photographer was of utmost importance to us because we wanted our memories to be captured perfectly and to be cherished forever. We also wanted to enjoy every moment of the wedding as naturally as possible without having to specifically pose, and ShutterShades fit our requirement as they accomplished the job fabulously. The festivities were planned and executed to perfection by Virus Entertainers. My wedding favors and poster had a caricature designed by Shailly Gajjar.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The festivities kicked off with a vibrant Mehndi function held outdoors amidst lush greenery with an abundance of colors and flowers. Hanging umbrellas in popping colors dotted the venue, making for a unique decor element. The bride shares, “Instead of an elaborate detailed henna design, I opted for a minimalistic look so I could spend more time enjoying with my guests.”
Sangeet
The boho-chic sangeet function was held under a canopy of stars with warm light arrangements brightening up every inch of the festivities. The groom looked suave in a sleek black Sherwani while the bride stunned in a sparkling amethyst hued lehenga. The evening saw rocking performances by the couple and their loved ones, along with the popular shoe game hosted by the bride’s brother.
Wedding
With fresh minimalistic decor in ivory and pink, the lakeside pheras were absolutely picture perfect. Making the most of their unique venue, the Dulha swapped out his traditional baraat entry for a boat ride to the Mandap. Enrobed in coordinated outfits that perfectly matched the color scheme, the couple looked ethereal as they exchanged vows.
Musical Night
The festivities came to a close with a relaxing musical night for everyone to unwind from the excitement of the wedding. Enveloped in the warm glow of string lights and lanterns under the starry night, everyone sang their hearts out making the most of this enchanting evening.
Advice for Couples
The bride shares, “Your wedding is your big day and it needs to be a combination of your dreams and vision. It is also a mixed bag of emotions, and no matter what, you will surely have butterflies in your stomach, but just take a breath, let go, and have fun.”
