Akhila Boyapati and Anand Mehta’s wedding was a thoughtful confluence of culture, memory and design, seamlessly brought to life by WeddingSutra Favorite – Tailormade Experiences. Rooted in tradition yet layered with personal storytelling, the celebrations reflected the coming together of Akhila’s Telugu heritage and Anand’s Marwari legacy.
How They Met
Anand and Akhila first met as undergraduates at IBS, Hyderabad, as part of the same friend circle. At first, they barely spoke. Over time, casual interactions turned into a steady friendship, and friendship gently unfolded into love. After some hesitation, they began dating, only to find themselves navigating a long-distance relationship across countries during the pandemic. Through it all, their bond strengthened. In a full-circle moment, Anand proposed to Akhila on their college campus at the very spot where their journey had quietly begun.
Wedding Planning
Designing a celebration that honoured two distinct cultural traditions while feeling cohesive required nuance and vision. Tailormade Experiences ensured that each event carried its own identity yet flowed seamlessly into the next.

Welcome Lunch
The Welcome Lunch set the tone with warmth and storytelling. Inspired by a Jaipuri mela, the décor was vibrant yet refined, with festive elements thoughtfully curated to reflect the couple’s journey. Playful signage, regional motifs and artisanal accents lent the space a celebratory charm, while interactive details encouraged guests to immerse themselves in the narrative of how Akhila and Anand arrived at this moment.
Sangeet
A striking stage with amphitheatre-style seating ensured every guest had a clear view of the performances, heightening the excitement of the evening. Dramatic lighting, dynamic visuals and a carefully planned layout transformed the venue into a grand performance arena. As both sides competed for the coveted trophy, the energy was electric!
Wedding
Set against a regal backdrop, the wedding décor was steeped in classic elegance. Akhila’s dreamy jaimala entry unfolded beneath soft florals and intricate detailing, while Anand’s entry down the palace stairs added a majestic flourish to the proceedings. The mandap, breathtaking in its scale and craftsmanship, became the sacred focal point of the celebration. Rich textures, timeless hues and traditional elements came together to create a setting that felt both grand and warm.
