Ankita and Raajvir, Goa
Traditions from Mathura, the beauty of the tropics and the romance of a beachfront setting, all came together at the festivities of this wedding.
Ankita and Raajvir’s wedding had equal doses of sun, sanctity and socializing. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – The Wedding Designers this wedding was filled with captivating details and beautiful moments all of which were captured wonderfully by WeddingSutra Favorite – Magic Weavers.
Wedding Venue
India’s western states have coasts that feature a series of beautiful beaches kissed by the Arabian Sea but there’s something special about Goa. It provides a pause in paradise, a warm, welcoming vibe. And it comes as no surprise that Ankita and Raajvir, who wanted their guests to have a good time that combined revelry with relaxation, chose the state.
The celebrations were split across two different properties – the haldi, cocktail party, mehendi and sangeet took place at Alila Diwa Goa while the ITC Grand Goa Resort and Spa made for the wedding venue.
Wedding Planning
The wedding was planned meticulously by the team at The Wedding Designers whose only goal is perfection. Every detail was created consciously to build on the magnificence of the festivities. Months of work culminated in a spectacular celebration.
To document the splendor of it all the couple got Magic Weavers on board. The team, with its intuitive style of working, was on their toes all throughout making sure not a single precious moment slipped their lens. Their photos left the couple with memories to last them a lifetime.
Wedding Functions
Haldi
This inaugural celebration was inspired by the famous phoolon ki holi of Mathura. In hues of orange, yellow and fuchsia, with drapes, jhulas and haathgaadis – the décor was all things bright and beautiful. The couple’s seating featured a turquoise border and a peacock as well! After the ceremony, everyone showered the couple with flowers.
Cocktail Party
The cocktail party was dedicated to the high life and where the décor brought the bling element to the party. Disco balls shot shards of light back down on the revelers, the bar was also made up of mirrored squares with a sign behind that read ‘Theka’. Rahul Vaidya entertained the guests with his melodious voice. Everyone was on the dance floor grooving into the wee hours.
Mehendi
The next day began with the ‘Tropical Paradise’ themed mehendi which carried a very relaxed, summery vibe. Pastel hues like powder blue, blush and peach along with white rendered the decor a captivating treat for the eyes. Flamingo inspired elements and canopies resembling teepee tents dotted the venue while wildflowers heightened the appeal of the setting.
Sangeet
This scintillating soirée had a big dose of Bollywood glamor. The grand stage at one end of the ballroom featured a marquee backdrop while floral features and chandeliers were suspended from the ceiling. The love seat was decked in white flowers and foliage in the centre of the stage, flanked by seating for their families. The night saw a series of dance performances by family and friends which made the evening memorable.
Wedding
The couple had their pheras performed on the beach. The ceremony, titled ‘Seaside Romance’ was perfectly placed by the ocean which formed a picture perfect backdrop for the mandap. Its pillars were smothered in flowers in shades of pink and white and leading the bride to the canopy was a glass aisle. Together it made for a stunning scene as the sun began to set.
