A love story that was years in the making, Bhumika Sachdev and Maneesh Kumar celebrated their journey with an intimate wedding celebration that duly complemented their Gujarati and Sindhi cultures with their own unique personalities. How they met
Contrary to the cliché, crossing paths for the first time in college wasn’t love at first sight for Bhumika and Maneesh. They were introduced by a mutual friend and they got close over Maneesh’s crush on the same friend while Bhumika played cupid!

Although things didn’t quite pan out in the long run for Maneesh and his relationship, his friendship with Bhumika stayed strong. Eventually, they started working in the same office and their conversations and coffee breaks subsequently turned into dinner dates. Before long, they realized they had fallen deeply in love with each other. They soon brought their parents into the fold and decided to embark upon the next chapter of their lives together with their blessings.

Wedding Planning
Hailing from Dubai, the couple decided to host a stunning destination wedding at DoubleTree by Hilton Resort and Spa in Al Marjan Island, Ras al Khaima. They roped in the talented team of Splendid Surprise Luxury Weddings to plan and execute their dream wedding. The bride envisioned a pastel palette for their celebrations, while still keeping it vibrant and colorful. The team who create and execute their own decor in-house, worked in tandem with the couple to finalize the designs and details of the wedding.

Wedding Functions

Haldi
Hosted at the waterfront deck of the hotel, the Haldi rituals were infused with vibrant colors and cheerful festivities. Brightly colored teepees, stage setup, umbrellas and other props added to the quirky ambience of the occasion, while earthy cane furniture gave a laidback feel. Everyone dressed in hues of yellow for the function.

Mehndi
The evening continued with an intimate Mehndi celebration. The vibrant yet minimal decor perfectly complemented the joyful tone of the festivities and painted a pretty picture against the cerulean blue sea. The bride and groom looked perfectly coordinated in rich yet edgy outfits of brass and green.

Sangeet
Intimate yet glamorous, the indoor Sangeet function was bedecked with crystal chandeliers, earthy wooden elements, dainty fairy lights and floral touches. The bride and groom looked resplendent in shimmering ensembles of black and emerald green with intricate sequin work. The night saw rousing music and dance performances that had everyone in high spirits.

Wedding
The serene waterfront wedding projected a minimalistic ethos. Billowing pastel drapes, a floral art piece of Lord Ganesh, spring flowers and classic brass elements looked divine against the rippling blue waves in the background as the couple tied the knot. The bride’s stunning orange lehenga with ombre detailing perfectly complemented the groom’s ivory sherwani.

Reception
The Reception gala boasted of stunning décor and exuded warm family moments with celebratory toasts and a dazzling multi-tiered wedding cake! An elegant palette of rose pink and gold set a sophisticated tone for the occasion where the bride and groom wowed everyone in coordinated black couture.
