Claudia Robles-Hill and Prakhar Gupta, JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, Thailand
Seamlessly fusing Indian and Mexican cultural influences to create a series of vibrant celebrations, this destination wedding in Thailand was an immersive one!
Podcaster Prakhar Gupta and artist Claudia Robles-Hill celebrated their cross-cultural Indo-Mexican union across two countries and five thoughtfully curated days. Designed and planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Innocept Studio, with evocative imagery captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – SDS Studio, the celebrations unfolded against the tropical backdrop of Thailand, before continuing in Delhi.

How They Met
Claudia and Prakhar’s story began in New York when a mutual friend introduced the two of them who soon realised how closely their worlds aligned. The chemistry was immediate. Shortly after meeting, they discovered they would both be in Mexico at the same time, Claudia with her friends and Prakhar with his producer, and that unexpected overlap strengthened their bond.
There was no traditional proposal. Instead, there was a private moment, a ring, and a shared certainty about building a life together. Their families, delighted by the union, hosted an engagement celebration that the couple embraced for its emotional significance. Their relationship evolved through travel and cultural discovery, with Claudia learning India, Prakhar discovering Mexico, and both creating a shared rhythm that felt entirely their own.

Wedding Venue
The Thailand celebrations were hosted at JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, Mai Khao, a venue chosen for its expansive beachfront, tropical serenity, and understated luxury. Framed by the Andaman Sea and lush landscapes, the resort offered a natural canvas for a cross-cultural celebration that moved seamlessly between vibrant festivities and intimate moments. Its open-air venues, beachside settings, and relaxed island energy allowed Indian rituals, Mexican influences, and Thai aesthetics to coexist with ease, making it an ideal setting for the couple’s destination wedding.
Wedding Planning
The celebrations were thoughtfully conceptualised and executed by Innocept Studio, who translated Prakhar and Claudia’s multi-cultural vision into a seamless narrative spanning continents. With a clear focus on cultural sensitivity, artistic storytelling, and guest experience, the planning approach ensured that each event felt distinct yet organically connected. The wedding blended Indian, Mexican, and Thai influences across music, fashion, food, rituals, and design, allowing each culture to shine without overpowering the other. The Indo-Mexican mehendi wove together Mexican colours, cuisine, and music within a traditional Indian framework. At the same time, the Thai sabai sundowner embraced local island aesthetics and relaxed tropical elements, grounding the celebration in its Phuket setting.
As a fine artist, Claudia approached the wedding with a strong visual and emotional sensibility. Each event carried its own colour palette, mood, and musical direction, shaped by intentional design rather than excess. The décor moodboards were conceptualised by her, with an emphasis on nature, intimacy, and artistic expression. Music played a defining role throughout the festivities, mirroring the couple’s shared love for sound and storytelling.
