A wedding where the décor and music came together to create the atmosphere of an intimate, multi-day concert.
When Darshanaa Aswani, and Krish Mehta, tied the knot, they wanted a celebration and décor that was personal to their story, and resonated with their personalities. Starting with the welcome dinner, which enjoyed a cozy ambience with it bonfire theme, to the wedding with its simple yet stunning mandap, their dream was orchestrated perfectly by WeddingSutra Favorite – Mpire Weddings and designed thoughtfully by WeddingSutra Favorite – House of Vivaah.
Wedding Planning
Vikram Mehta of Mpire Weddings says, “The crowd was a discerning mix from the Mumbai circuit and the kind I personally have known for a long time. It also had a good mix of celebrities—daughters of some of India’s biggest icons and actors and a well-travelled next generation! The logistics, hospitality, entertainment and the guest experience had to be flawless, and we had covered all grounds to ensure that’s achieved.”
He adds, “Darshanaa wanted her bridal entry to be subtle which was a challenge considering the grandeur that Fairmont brings with it. But we did this with a simple walk with her Dad that got everyone tearing amidst diff special effects at different junctures. The most important thing was the track selection and the switch of each at the exact second.”
Wedding Functions
Bonfire Night
This evening had a cozy vibe as it was an intimate dinner, with a lot of warm colours. The wall with the black and white photos added a touch of nostalgia. The after party was an Afro theme. The lights and SFX made it perfect, giving everyone a taste of the next two days ahead.
Mehendi
The welcome lunch-cum-mehendi was an Amalfi-themed décor. Amalfi was also where Krish proposed to Darshanaa, taking the couple back to where they started. Nihal Singh stole the show with his tabla act along with DJ AJ.
Sangeet
Where the mehendi and bonfire night were cozy in their vibe, the sangeet night was full of glam. The couple wanted one element to stand out, and this was the tornado bar. The sangeet starred Shalmali Kolgade and her singing and the entire act with her dancers left the guests mesmerized.
Wedding
The couple wanted a classic wedding with soothing decor with reds and white. The chandelier at the venue gave a royal look. The mandap stood out for its simplicity, highlighting the sacredness of the rituals ahead.
The party that followed had a customised cloud over the DJ booth referring to Krish’s favourite DJ – Keinmusik, ending the celebrations on a high note!
