Deeksha and Shrikishan Agarwal, W Goa
With a line-up of sought-after entertainers and extravagant decor- this couple’s three-day destination wedding in Goa gave grandeur a leg-up!
Spanning three days and filled to the brim with grand events, Deeksha and Shrikishan Agarwal celebrated their union on the shores of Goa. Raising the bar high with its grandeur, the wedding was planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Perfexion Events who used their planning skills to the fullest!
Wedding Planning
Ashish Bohra from Perfexion Events shares, “The couple wanted to celebrate this momentous occasion of their lives with near and dear ones by having a grand 3-day celebration. Hosted in the month of January when the winds in Goa are cool and pleasant, each event was planned with utmost attention to detail. Since the couple hail from a large family, they’ve been to numerous weddings. Hence, they were keen on taking the unconventional route and wanted to step away from the usual things one often witnesses at traditional weddings. Plus, they both are very exuberant individuals who love to party, so grandeur was always high on the list of priorities.”
Wedding Functions
Retro Pop Night
Ashish shares, “To kick-start the wedding celebrations, a Retro Pop night with a Punjabi Twist was planned. From a fun entry by the couple with Punjabi dholwalas and dancers to guests dancing to peppy numbers, the night was perfect. Neon and LED décor exuded club-like vibes and the DJ had the guests dancing all night long.”
Mehendi
Shrikishan and Deeksha’s mehendi had dreamy Bohemian vibes to it. Ashish shares, “Inspired by Dubai All White Party, we tried to give it earthy vibes by using organic elements in the décor. We also had helium balloon shots distributed to all the guests and on the countdown they all released it together to welcome the couple to the venue. DJ Ganesh and the band set just the right mood.”
Sangeet
While the sangeet was a bash that many were waiting for with bated breath, for the planning team it presented many challenges which were dealt with in an efficient manner. Ashish shares, “The space we needed for the decor was a tricky issue. However, through meticulous planning and quick thinking, we were able to make the most out of what was available to us.
The evening started with a fire act by International artists followed by back-to-back dance performances where the bride and groom dedicated their performances to each other along with jaw-dropping SFX. The bride’s solo performance also had a surprise in the end when Shrikishan came on stage and gave her a ring!”
Haldi
For the final day, it was go big or go home! As Ashish explains, “For the third day, grandeur got a hefty boost up. There were five different entertainers who graced the event and as a result, it was lively and fun. From family dedicating performances for the lovely couple to Phoolon ki Holi, this colourful function had a traditional essence to it. Delicate details and a palette blending with the venue seamlessly incorporated the surrounding natural elements into the decor.”
Carnival
Ashish shares, “From traditional Haldi vibes we transported our guests to carnival vibes where we had the Goan band perform. We had planned the décor in such a way that the Haldi area looked different and the Carnival area had casual English vibes to it. We had also planned games and activities like Ring Toss, Shoot The Can, etc to engage the guests.”
Wedding
The wedding celebrations kicked off with an energetic baraat which, again, had a lineup of entertainers. Ashish shares, “The baraat was a royal one and it was accompanied by a live band and Bollywood singer Sukhbir.
We then proceeded on to the varmala and pheras. The couple wanted a sundowner varmala and the Helipad lawn in the hotel was just the right spot to create this special moment. The biggest challenge on this day was the production work which was happening at five different venues of the same hotel and we had to rush yet plan precisely to complete the work in time so that we can create the perfect sundowner varmala moment. However, together with our associates and vendors, we were able to wind up before our deadline. We had planned a dramatic couple entry with classical dancers and colorful sky shots at the time of varmala. It was followed by musical pheras at the same venue.
Right after the wedding, the newlyweds were welcomed at the reception venue by a choir and a night of high-spirited celebrations followed.”
