Deepti and Harshal, Udaipur
A colorful royal affair marked the Udaipur wedding of these frontline Covid warriors.
Dr. Deepti N. Goel and Dr. Harshal M. Goel got the grand celebration they had always wanted with a beguiling palatial wedding planned and orchestrated by WeddingSutra Favorite – Desert Pearl Entertainment. Watch their festivities unfold in the stunning shots below, captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Oragraphy.
How They Met
The bride shares, “While I always believed in love, I could never accept the idea of soulmates, until I met Harshal. Our first interaction was in 2011, during a debate competition held at our medical college in Lucknow where I randomly punched him for refuting me during the debate. I lost the debate to him but won his heart.”
She continues, “Once we started talking, our bond grew with each passing day. Between evening walks, coffee breaks and special little moments sharing laughs, long talks, stupid little fights and silly jokes, we fell in love. He is the first man I ever dated, and from a typical college romance to building successful careers side by side, we grew up together. Today I work as the Medical Officer, Dental Surgeon, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh while Harshal is now pursuing his post-graduation in MD Internal Medicine from Jaipur and we are both frontline covid warriors. Despite being from very different backgrounds, our families always believed in us and our bond, and with their encouragement and support, we decided to tie the knot!”
Wedding Planning
After much back and forth of planning amidst the Pandemic, the couple got married in July 2021. She shares, “Harshal and me always wanted a dream fairy tale celebration of our love. With much help from our families, especially my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, we found the perfect palace venue at The Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur. The team of Desert Pearl Entertainment did a fabulous job planning and executing our wedding exactly as we had wanted. They went into the minutest of the details and discussed things with us. Since we were from outside Udaipur, they took extra efforts to fulfill all our needs, and we could always rely on them even while sitting at a distance of thousands of kilometers. Niyati was always just a call away for any assistance. In a nutshell, they do total justice to their work and are the best at what they do.”
The couple brought in Yogi Trivedi of Oragraphy to capture every detail of their traditional Hindu wedding celebrations with Baniya and Khatri customs in vivid detail.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The intimate Mehndi was hosted in a dazzling setting surrounded by vintage brass furniture and artwork of the palace. The couple dressed in the customary hues of green for the occasion, and the bride sat on a royal swing while getting henna patterns made on her hands.
Sangeet
The glitzy Sangeet night was a joyous affair with music, dance and revelry. The couple had a gala time dancing and enjoying themselves with their loved ones. The bride glittered in an emerald green gown with sequins, while the groom cut a striking figure in an iridescent blue kurta with rich red embroidery and a stunning safa.
Haldi
The Haldi function was a vibrant poolside affair with a stunning view of the lake, lush gardens and hills in the distance. The decor of yellow and red set a lively yet traditional ambience for the ritual. The bride matched the decor with a yellow and red lehenga with floral jewelry and was the perfect picture of happiness as she was smeared with haldi by her friends and family.
Wedding
The Wedding was a royal affair hosted in the grand courtyard of the palatial hotel. Dressed in quintessential wedding hues of red, cream and gold, the couple exchanged garlands on the stunning floral floating structure surrounded by water and jharokas amidst fireworks. Delicate white and red florals accented the beautiful architecture of the space.
