Set against the sun-dappled shores of Thailand, Dhriti Mehra and Karan Sehgal’s wedding was a vision of elegance and effortless celebration. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Event Casa, the festivities beautifully captured the couple’s love for travel, nature, and understated sophistication.
Wedding Venue
Tucked along the serene coastline of Phang Nga, Avani+ Khao Lak Resort proved to be the perfect canvas for this tropical celebration. Its seamless blend of modern architecture, lush gardens, and sweeping beachfront views made it ideal for a wedding that was equal parts relaxed and refined. From poolside revelry to the soft sands of the beachside mandap, the venue offered versatility without losing its natural charm.
Wedding Planning
For Dhriti, the sea has always been a source of peace and joy. Her vision for the wedding was clear; each celebration had to reflect that same sense of calm, connection, and celebration of nature. “We wanted every event to feel authentic, not staged,” shares Ashi Tanwar from Event Casa. “It was all about textures, colours, and experiences that resonated with the couple’s story.”
From the very beginning, Shobhit Jain and Ashi Tanwar led the planning with precision and creativity, curating themes that felt both fresh and personal. Shobhit adds, “Our approach was to amplify what was already beautiful—the ocean, the light, the natural greenery—and design around it rather than over it.”
Wedding Functions
Haldi and Pool Party
Inspired by Dhriti and Karan’s proposal in Masai Mara, this celebration embodied the raw joy of love and nature. The setting came alive with sunlit marigolds, tropical foliage, and earthy textures, creating an environment that felt organic yet exuberant. Guests splashed, danced, and laughed amidst a sea of yellow blooms, while the couple shared candid, love-soaked moments that mirrored their adventurous spirit. The décor struck a perfect balance between playful and picturesque, setting the tone for the days ahead.
Sangeet
The Sangeet was a dazzling evening that combined classic grandeur with modern flair. Under a canopy of ivory drapes, crystal chandeliers, and floral accents, the venue was transformed into an opulent royal setting. Pearls were used as the central design element, an ode to their regal charm and connection to the ocean, adding a soft, luminescent touch to the décor. The couple made a graceful entrance, followed by performances that lit up the night.
Beachside Wedding
The wedding ceremony was a breathtaking affair that perfectly captured the couple’s serene aesthetic. Set against the boundless horizon, the coral-inspired décor seamlessly blended with the oceanic palette. A white floral arch intertwined with seashell motifs and delicate branches framed the mandap. “This was one of those rare weddings where the décor and emotion truly merged,” says Ashi. “It felt pure, graceful, and completely in sync with nature.”
After Party
The celebrations culminated in a high-energy after party inspired by the Speakeasy era—a stylish blend of moody lighting, luxe textures, and lively beats. Plush lounges, vintage bar setups, and a curated playlist kept the night alive as guests danced into the early hours.
