Eesha and Prateek, Baku
The untainted location of Azerbaijan’s capital city turned out to be an ideal venue for this spectacular Punjabi wedding.
A love story that began at an office party culminated in a splendid union at pristine locales in Baku, Azerbaijan. Eesha and Prateek’s wedding was a resplendent affair that was captured beautifully by WeddingSutra Favorite – CineLove Productions. Every ceremony of the wedding was indeed a sight to behold with the mesmerizing set-ups and breathtaking demeanors of the bride and groom styled and curated by Meha of Styl.Inc.
How They Met
The couple met for the first time at an office get-together, which led to a happy courtship over a lot of whiskeys and light-hearted flirting. Their mutual affection for food, drinks and travel, along with frequent business trips, brought the two together, leading up to Prateek finally proposing to Eesha in the middle of the desert in Dubai.
Wedding Venue
Unexplored by many, the country of Azerbaijan is a splendid destination. Prateek and Eesha thought it was perfect for their dream wedding. The mesmerizing city of Baku, on the threshold of the Caspian Sea, was where the couple’s nuptials took place. The wedding ceremony was held at the Dreamland Gold Club, with other functions held at the Fairmont Flame Towers in the city.
Wedding Planning
Planned within less than a month, the wedding of Prateek and Eesha was itself a roller coaster ride. The initial plan to host the wedding at Kazakhstan went for a toss due to the shut down of the air-space. However, owing to the expertise of Chapter 2 Events and the adept inputs of Style.Inc by Meha Bhargava, the wedding ended up being better than what was planned earlier, all thanks to the surreal backdrops provided by the gorgeous locations of Azerbaijan.
Wedding Functions
Bhajan Sandhya
The festivities began with an ode to the almighty. The bhajan sandhya saw the families of the couple coming together and praying for the health and happiness of Prateek and Eesha as they began their new journey as husband and wife. Eesha wore a simple yet elegant grey ensemble for the prayer ceremony, completing her minimal look with a paasa and earrings. Her groom sported a white kurta and a pink jacket.
Mehendi
Eesha’s mehendi was an outdoor pool party. The event saw the bride and her loved ones really let their hair down as they had a gala time. The decor consisted of pink-draped canopies and fresh flower decorations. Eesha looked radiant in her indigo lehenga matched with gorgeous floral jewelry that complemented her dewy makeup and wavy hair. The highs of the occasion were expertly captured by CineLove Productions.
Sangeet
Playing tribute to the culture of their host country, the theme of Prateek and Esha’s sangeet was ‘Middle East meets Mediterranean’. Hues of pink and blue dominated the ornate decor, which consisted of Arabic domes, golden arches and beautiful flowers. The bride showed off her traditional beauty in a pink Benarasi lehenga. The groom looked dapper in an indigo tuxedo.
Anand Karaj
The couple’s Anand Karaj (Sikh wedding ceremony) was a close-knit event with the couple’s nearest loved ones in attendance. A simple and pious affair, this ceremony too saw shades of pale pink and flowers dominate the fresh decor. The bride donned a white lehenga with gota embellishments while the groom wore a cream-colored kurta teamed with a mauve bandhgala. The guests also stuck to similar shades, sporting clothes in muted tones of pink, mauve and white.
Wedding
The wedding ceremony was a mesmerising affair held at the Dreamland Golf Club in Baku. Set on the lush greens of the golf course, the ceremony was a visual treat thanks to the beautifully-draped mandap, stylish seating and floral arrangements. The groom made a grand entrance with his band of boys in a white Hummer. The girl’s gang escorted the gorgeous bride in a golf-cart. The highlight of the function had to be the jugalbandi of Indian dhols, Azeri drummers and the dancers that accompanied the baraat.
After-Party
Post the pheras, the wedding celebrations continued at the Fairmont Flame Towers in Baku with an after-party that was full of surprises as various professional acts were performed. The entertainment for the night included dancers, scene enactments and live musical performances. The occasion was filled with fun and light-hearted activities, such as the wedding shoe game played by the bride and groom. Guests eventually took over the dance floor, celebrating the union of Eesha and Prateek.
Reception (Baku)
A soiree straight out of a Bollywood flick, Eesha and Prateek’s wedding reception in Baku was nothing short of magnificent. The couple had a band flown in from Kazakhstan to perform at the party and Azeri dancers added their charm to the evening. The venue had beautifully-set, candlelit tables with floral decor. Grand floral chandeliers hung over the dance floor, making the entire venue look dreamy and romantic.
Reception (Delhi)
The couple also threw a reception party for their friends and acquaintances back home in Delhi. Inspired by the story of Alice in Wonderland, the decor consisted of lush foliage with a black and gold color pallette. The bride look gorgeous in a bronze sequin lehenga, with her groom looking handsome in a black mandarin-collar suit. The night was a fun-filled affair with The Unplugged Band and DJ Manish providing foot-tapping entertainment.
